Today is my first full day in Puerto Morelos, Mexico. I am going to be on the lookout for as many NMMCs and NMMAs as I can find. I'm hoping I will get to meet a friendly crocodile 🐊

It's alright for some with margaritas in hot countries. It's bloody snowing here and Kettle and I are on trick or treat door duty. Delighted that it's DH's turn to walk round with DS 😄

It's cloudy here but still warm. Today I met a mum and baby NMA (points to the first one to correctly identify the animal) and a bloody load of mosquitos which apparently were all over my back and legs as we walked through the jungle to get to the pool.

How are everyone’s cats coping with the fireworks? Kitty’s not too bad but she’d be happier without them. My sister’s dog is hiding under her bed as he always does.

If I was in charge only the quieter ones would be available, & that only for organised displays.

Worryingly quiet here tonight here for Diwali - usually it sounds like the Battle of the Somme with the mortars echoing up and down the valley.

Cats don't care about the fireworks, but Tobias got very skittish at all the small people knocking at the door & ended up behind the sofa. This must have affected Girlcat too, as she didn't do her normal posing on the windowsill and make people (who thought she was just a decoration) jump when she moved.

But the illuminated purple bat shaped paper lantern came off the front door at 8pm, and round here they can be surprisingly civilised so no obvious seasonal decorations means no more callers. Was later than I hoped home from work, so didn't have time to put up the seasonal string lights or the window cling bats this year.

Re Diwali - We kept ours in tonight - but they seem to sleep through the bangs and flashes anyway.

It could well be. But I hang it lit up in the porch on Halloween to indicate that the Witches Cottage is open to those who dare approach it, so it comes down when it hits 8pm/I've had enough of doling out sweeties to children

I met a snake yesterday. I really don't approve of the touristy animal things, but I was weak and gave in when the man offered to put the boa over my shoulders.

Ooh, I forgot to tell you all that Gizmo settled down in Linney's cave yesterday evening.

Linney came through to me, looking perplexed.

So I went and tipped Gizmo out.

DS2 asked me if I'd taken Gizmo to the vet because of his inability to jump.

Yes, DS2, we've spent a good deal of time and money trying to get to the bottom of this.

We've also received many flesh wounds, trying to get Mr. G into his basket.

Currently, Gizmo is enjoying a Lickelix laced with Pawbits every morning before his breakfast. Like the Solensia ,
it's making no difference.

Sigh. I'm going to get a cat ladder.
