Yes, he'll be allowed out to play in a few weeks - if he dares! He has yet to get his second vaccination after he was rescued but he's booked in at the vet for the week after next.

Another stripey tail admirer here. I also really do love the name Kettle. I know you said that's not actually his name but I love it.

The tribe have just had ham AND chicken. Not enough in their opinion admittedly, but I tried to explain if they eat it all now then there won't be any for later.

Pudmyboy · 27/09/2024 16:52

I like the confident angle of that splendid stripy tail

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 27/09/2024 18:09

Love a stripy tail. None of my current lot possess one - but we did have a previous regular visitor with one. 🤣🤣🤣

Happy Friday everyone! This week has been so long, but finally work is over for a few days.

Oh my goodness, that is a cool glass! Slightly terrifying though 😅

My son just let the neighbour cat in 😩 She's a frequent visitor and I forgot to mention to him that she shouldn't be allowed in as normal while Kettle was still settling in.

I think she sees our house as a secondary part of her territory and she was furious to find an intruder. She hissed and growled at him before I could get her out. Kettle seemed nonplussed and looks fine now but I hope it hasn't unsettled him just when he was getting braver.

I think Shady is faulty

I had a five guys takeaway last year, thought he would try and eat the burger. Nope, he wanted the Cajun spice chips Confused

Tonight I have an Indian takeaway and he is drooling (literally) and patting me with his paw for... curry Confused

I can eat tuna, roast chicken, anything like that and he leaves me alone. Spices? I get ambushed

RumNotRun · 27/09/2024 20:43

@spikeandbuffy funnily enough I ordered a Chinese delivery tonight (chicken chow mein and fried rice). Toad has currently got his head in the bowl, happily munching away.

RumNotRun · 28/09/2024 00:34

Frankenstein was trying to use the power of his mind to make me give him more chicken.

Did it work? 🍗 😄

RumNotRun · 28/09/2024 11:19

Maybe a little bit 😁 I always give him more cause he's so tiny.

Aplaceinthecold · 28/09/2024 14:28

My last, very much missed, tuxedo would attack you for any takeaway. He particularly loved pizza.
He did have an unpleasant surprise once when my dh ordered a vindaloo.
He licked the leftover tray and shot straight out of the window. Luckily it was open 😂

Thrifty asked to share my crisps this morning. I know crisps are salty and have bad flavourings like onion in them so I only ever give them a little snippet if they ask. On this occasion the crisps were chilli flavour (Walkers if anyone needs to know), so she had a sniff and retreated. She did show continuing interest in the bag, perhaps hoping there was another flavour in there, or perhaps just because it crackled. But mean mama took it away.

I missed the opportunity to grab a snap for the Noble Disappointment thread a couple of days ago. At breakfast, the dainty Izzy who used to eat like a fairy scoffed away happily, but Thrifty sat hunched over hers with such a mournful expression... It was Royal Canin Indoor, which they like, but with gravy instead of jelly. Someone call the RSPCA!

RumNotRun · 28/09/2024 15:29

The tribe love the gravy on cat food but won't touch the meat. It ends up being put out for the birds instead. They're not fussy.

Lexter has been relaxing in the sunshine, lying in the back of the sofa. His skin was boiling!

Oh no!
Does this mean you have to continue buying the gravy version for Izzy but also buy the jelly version for Thrifty? 😱

Pudmyboy · 28/09/2024 18:09

@spikeandbuffy My little Pud did similar! He was really fussy about chicken (had to be absolutely fresh, M&S chargrilled, only eaten on the day it was opened) EXCEPT when I had tandoori chicken: he would paw that off my plate! ( He was otherwise a very polite boy, my late little love)

I used to find this a lot! Loved the jelly, could have been gravel not meat for all the attention he paid to it!

LostCats · 28/09/2024 18:34

I wish we could have ‘met’ him Pud. He sounded so lovely.

RumNotRun · 28/09/2024 19:29

Fred is being a snuggle butt today. Not on me of course 🙄 but close enough. He purrs every time I move a hand near him.

Happy Caturday from Louie-Boo who LOVES this bed by the radiator now the heating’s on. 🧡 This time last year he was living in a shed so he is truly in his domestic bliss era.

This was our previous girl’s spot and it gives me so much joy to see him there. She loved that radiator more than anything, to the point she once singed her whiskers which were black and crispy at the end for ages afterwards.
