The reason we think it's from Guillermo is because Linney almost never gets on the bed during the night.

Neither of us is keen on trying to examine Mr. G....................there would be further bloodshed if we did. Anyway, he seems fine.

Maybe there was a murder of some small critter which was fully consumed by Gizmo except for some blood trapped in his paw pads?

That thought had occurred to me too.

Hope all the felines are ok.

I never thought of that!

Well done Miss Marple. That could be the reason.

Also, would it be in keeping with Gizmo's personality to eat a bloody meal on your bed rather than on, say, a nice easy to clean tiled surface?

Well yes.
It so happens that Saturday is sheet changing day anyway, so I was taking the linen off the bed in any case.

A couple of weeks ago, he was less considerate. He threw up on the duvet on a Monday, and I was obliged to take it off when it had only been on the bed for 36 hours.

Happy Sunday evening from Kitty. I wasn’t sure how long my hand would be required for but I was allowed to take it back when she wanted to wash.

Obligatory cardboard box photo 🤣😹

Poppy is absolutely gorgeous.

HouseofHolbein · 13/10/2024 20:05

Wednesday is happily taking her tablets and is ignoring the vet's advice about wet food by eating her sisters dry and crying for her own.

Reckon she knows what she can manage 🤷‍♀️ so she's back to dry food but we are watching whether or not she is managing to eat it. Back for a check up Tuesday morning 😊

Btw middle child is apparently very talented at getting tablets into challenging cats - can send her to try to work her magic if required 😊

I’m not brave enough to start my own thread on this but I know here I’m among friends (or should that be fur-iends). Wondered if anyone has had a cat seeming to sense the presence of a deceased pet?
Fairly regularly at bedtime Socks will stand on my bed staring at the doorway. She’s very alert, intent, perhaps wary, but not scared. Curious, craning her neck to get a better look. Fur slightly spiked.
I wonder if it is ddog who died in January paying a visit. Socks was very nervous of doggo so maybe senses she is not a threat any more. Or is not there but not there in a physical sense. She sometimes does it a couple of times a week and then not for a fortnight or so. It can’t be a fly or something as it’s always the bedroom doorway.
Matt doesn’t appear to notice anything at all.

Pixiedust1234 · 13/10/2024 20:34

@Papergirl1968 I get what you are saying and I think if I was you my mind would go there too. However I wonder if she can hear the house settling at night and she thinks it's ddog paddling around? If she's been on red alert for years any little noise like a gutter pinging or floorboard creaking is going to set her off but your other cat and you won't "hear" normal house noises.

RumNotRun · 13/10/2024 21:26

@Papergirl1968 I like to think they can. I'm convinced at times that mine have sensed the presence of one of the old cats and it makes me happy thinking that Ali, Pigeon and the others come back to visit. The logical part of my brain thinks that @Pixiedust1234 is probably right though.

These three are being ridiculously cute tonight. (Raven, Toad, and of course Lexter). Fred on the other hand has had the zoomies tonight which included attacking the curtain I have over the lounge doorway.

Papergirl1968 · 13/10/2024 21:41

I wish Socks could talk and tell me what she sees. She definitely seems to see rather than hear something, but I haven’t noticed her doing it any time other than bedtime so it could be that is the sounds of the house settling for the night.
I noticed a really strong orange smell that appeared and then disappeared shortly after my dad died and I heard a miaow a few weeks after my cat died. My dad (the most unwoo person ever) swore he felt dcat jump up on to the bed.
I’m not sure if I believe but I’m open minded.

TheShellBeach · 13/10/2024 22:56

There are another set of bloody (blood-stained) paw prints on the duvet cover.

Gizmo has just jumped off it, so it's definitely from him.

I hope G is ok and has just been leaving blood from his (poor) victims!

I appear to have angered the Lexter. Any blood to be found will probably be mine.

@TheShellBeach I’d check the primary school register tomorrow morning. Colder weather can increase our appetite.

Love you lot, miss you. Hideously busy and can’t MN anything like as much as necessary but with you in spirit. Always.

Bugger - that sounds like he has an injury then. Good luck trying to examine him.

TheShellBeach · 13/10/2024 23:33

He's just walked round the kitchen and left a little trail of blood as he went.

Papergirl1968 · 14/10/2024 06:41

Ohh yes, vet, I’d say, Shell.
Waves to @Supersimkin7 - glad you’re ok and just busy. Was getting a bit concerned by your absence.

Allergictoironing · 14/10/2024 07:06

Re: Socks and woo - we had a horse who was totally bombproof on the roads despite living in a busy suburban area. I say bombproof, but at just one place on a regular ride she would get very skittish & twitchy which was completely unlike her. Couldn't work out why, until someone said jokingly "maybe it's the ghosts, other side of that hedge is the church & cemetery".

I still feel Boycat jumping onto my bed occasionally even now, heading for 2 years after he was PTS.

RumNotRun · 14/10/2024 07:15

Hi @Supersimkin7 👋😊

Shell, I hope Mr G isn't too expensively injured!
