Kettle is extremely pleased with himself as he's worked out how to lick his wound even with the cone on.

The vet says I have to go in and get him a bigger one. 😣

After further discussion, we agreed to try the cone plus the baby jumper, see if that stops him.

Kettle is not sure how much more of this humiliation he can take.

I would need to dial 999 for myself if I attempted to put a jumper on Gizmo.

Maybe Gizmo would be like George on the Temperamental Chuckle FB page. George is an evil plotting cat but when he puts on one of his jumpers, he turns into a big snuggle bum. If you're on FB and not following them, check out the page. It's very cute.

Probably for the first time ever Frankfurter has been a typical cat. He loved the Churu cat treats so much the other day that I bought him some more. Admittedly a different variety but still Churu, still chicken. He carried a piece around in his mouth then decided as I have bought a few packs he doesn't like them. He did give me head boops though so at least I got to give him scritches and love.

I am the last person who should be commenting on someone's weight, but I think Raven may need to go on a diet.

So in 40 odd years of cat ownership we've never had cat beds until a few weeks ago when NDN donated one that Gizmo never used and is now Sybil's favourite place.

As of last Sunday we now have two, as another friend has donated one her cat never used...

@Pudmyboy that briefly gave me the idea of doing a calendar of our cats but I think we'd probably have to have a cat a week, especially if we added the NMCs like Picard and Suzie. Of course the most famous NMC is now NMCBSC (not my cat but Shell's cat).

The stylish jumper in autumnal tones proved too loose as he was able to do that thing where they appear to retract their legs back into their body and get out of the sleeves. Why do cats have to be so slippery?

I am now trying baby tights with the other leg looping through a hole in the bum panel to tie it round the body. He seems to find it comfy enough for lying down and is enjoying a paw-over-nose nap.

But he hasn't tried to move around yet so the system is not fully tested. I may add one of those grippy dog socks in XS. And he'll have to have the cone on when unsupervised.

Since he managed to lick it yesterday I've spotted him a few times trying and failing so I think he just got lucky rather than knowing how to do it. Hopefully this will be enough to let the damn thing heal. It's such a little wound!

For weeks I've been feeling abandoned at night cause none of the cats will come upstairs at the moment. Last night there was a change. Sir Frederick the purry marshmallow has decided that my bed is The Best Place. 😍😻

I feel like a very cruel mama this morning, but a) both cats need to lose a bit of weight (especially Tobias) and b) I somehow need to get probiotics into Tobias.

As they don't seem impressed with the bowl that has probiotic powder in their breakfast & have left most of it, I am not going to top up their kibble before going to work. The theory is that I will find out when I get home if they find it completely unpalatable, or whether they are being fussy. They aren't going to suffer being a little hungry for 8 hours or so - face it, one was born a feral, the other was a street cat for 2 years - & I do need to somehow get the prebiotics into guzzle guts.

Going to be interesting when I get in tonight!

Wish me luck. Wednesday has to go to the vets this morning for a dental examination/procedure under GA. Not too worried about getting her in the cat carrier as you all know how stupid/compliant the idiot sisters are. I'm actually really concerned that none of them can have breakfast until she has been trapped in her carrier and I reckon the other 2 might eat me before then 🤣🤣

Appointment is at 10:30. Was planning on leaving around 10:00. Cats are normally fed before 8:00.....
