Poor Finlay! Hope it was just a one-off.

Just hit Amazon & ordered 3 different probiotic supplements, in the hope that Tobias will at least try one of them. You'd think an ex-street cat wouldn't be quite so fussy about food!

Pudmyboy · 06/10/2024 10:22

Phew! Let's hope he just picked up a bug and has fought it off and will be back to normal in no time @JaceLancs !

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 06/10/2024 10:27

That’s great @JaceLancs - you will be glad to have him home. @coastergirl is poor Walter being forced back into the office while Benny continues to WFH?

Louie has taken to sleeping in a chair in the living room, and last night DP left him there when he came through to bed. Cue me dying of fright when he jumped on my head at 6am looking for his breakfast. Needless to say DP is in my bad books and needs to remember to bring Louie to the kitchen at bedtime. Our old girl used to trot through when you said “beddy-bed-time”.

Just collected Finlay with antibiotics and painkillers - need to keep him in for a couple of days - without further tests they are not prepared to speculate as to where the infection is and as last night cost £512 I’m not pursuing it unless it happens again
He dived straight for the food bowl and is now happily asleep

Ah Jace I do hope he getting better all the time. Poor guy (and you!)

Hee hee Judy - was that what he was doing in your face at 6am? Is a beautiful picture actually. The blanket really shows his gorgeous colour off very well.

Papergirl1968 · 06/10/2024 11:37

Thinking of you and Finlay, @JaceLancs
Glad he’s home and eating.

TheShellBeach · 06/10/2024 11:42

I'm glad Finlay is back home.

Lovely pi of Louie @Judystilldreamsofhorses 😻

spikeandbuffy · 06/10/2024 12:44

Can I ask for some advice?
I'm rubbish with cat health stuff because of Ollie!

Shady has been in and out his tray loads the past hour, I can't work out if he's trying to wee or poo but I suspect poo
He has been for a wee and poo already, eaten, is sat on the windowsill watching the birds etc so not subdued or anything
Is this a watch and wait? After Ollie had a blockage I don't know

TheShellBeach · 06/10/2024 12:54

Hi @spikeandbuffy I'd watch and wait if he's eating, and give him extra fluid. Add some water to his normal cat food.

But take him to the vet's if he is still doing it tomorrow.

@Judystilldreamsofhorses er...I'm pretty sure Walter has absolutely no idea what's going on...ever. 😂

KeziaOAP · 06/10/2024 13:48

@spikeandbuffy one of mine had the same problem a couple of weeks ago, going backwards and forwards to the litter tray no wee no poo, vet diagnosed bladder infection. No better after three days of medication, took her back for ultrasound scan, no sign of blockage, however they did find one of her kidneys enlarged, different medication, much better now. She's also on kidney care food -very expensive

Breadcat24 · 06/10/2024 14:13

hope Finlay and Shady get well soon

spikeandbuffy · 06/10/2024 14:57

We are at the ooh, he has an infection or cystitis but caught it very early

@spikeandbuffy Good Shady has been diagnosed early, hopefully will clear up quickly.

RumNotRun · 06/10/2024 15:07

@spikeandbuffy Favourite Cat had issues with cystitis/UTIs. The first vet (also ooh) gave him cystitis capsules to go over food. If Shady has also been given them you can get exactly the same ones on Amazon for pennies. I THINK his were cystease but I'm not sure. You don't need a prescription though.

JaceLancs · 06/10/2024 16:38

Hope Shady is on the mend soon
I went out to buy some toothpaste and came back to find Finlay AWOL - he’s forced the lock on the cat flap open - thankfully he has got his tracker back on and hopefully will come home when he’s hungry so I can give him his meds

TheShellBeach · 06/10/2024 17:22

Goodness, the Excellent Cats are causing chaos medically this weekend.

And costing their hapless slaves loadsamoney.

Kitty’s going for a post-adoption checkup on Tuesday. Nothing to worry about as far as I know and luckily she’ll go anywhere for Dreamies, including her carrier. So 🤞

Hope everyone’s better soon x

My knees are still complaining about having to get down under Allergic's furniture on Friday. You know you're getting on a bit when...

And here is Izzy demonstrating her new game. It hasn't taken over from stick and blanket, which is still the best game ever, but Mum is too lazy to play it for long enough, so she has to make do with a piece of string draped over a chair arm. I only need to re-drape it once it's fallen onto the floor and been thoroughly killed.

Just strolled in like nothing has happened, managed to get the drugs down him before feeding and apart from a shaven paw he seems happy enough
