Kettle is now sometimes brave enough to nap on the bed all by himself instead of under it and has twice wandered upstairs in the evening to watch TV with me.

He is still politely declining when I suggest he take his meals upstairs. I assume eventually he will feel safe to eat up here and I won't have to feed him in the basement forever!

I've given him a fleece blanket to lie on (which doesn't clash with his fur as much as the duvet cover 😄) and was planning to move it up to the sofa later to hopefully help him feel it's part of his territory.

Baby steps, but I think he's made a lot of progress this week!

Greetings, all. I thought you might like to see two New York cats, Mingus (the orange boy), and Daisy.

We live in the woods, and they have a second story deck to surveil their domain from. Sadly, we also have coyotes in the area, so they are indoor only cats.

I don't know if these are available directly in the UK, but we recently bought a Cattasaurus cat cave and it's been a huge hit with Daisy. It has a portal in the shape of a cat's face that they can look out of when they are hiding inside, and the bed on the top looks to be very comfortable.

The other 2 bowls are on the other side of the kitchen to reduce the amount of times Amber steals food from the others.
We actually have 4 cats. Here is Pepper with sky in the background.

No idea @Inks42 She went outside for no more than 5 minutes and came back in limping. When I took her to the vet, they did an x-ray and she'd broken her tibia but not her fibula. She wouldn't stay still and rest it when they tried the plaster so she ended up having it amputated. Within a couple of days she was zooming round the house like nothing had happened!

Loving all the black cats, smooth and fluffy, and the gingers, and the torties, and the pale torties, and of course the ginger and whites! It's a feast of fantastic felines on here!

I am so impressed that the Excellent Cats are truly international with Kettle, Daisy and Mingus (surely the definitive name for a Cool Cat)?

Glad to see Finlay looking absolutely recovered and extremely handsome, as do all the cats on thus lovely thread!

When it comes to choosing a house, my friend's cat has taken to sitting outside the patio door rather than lowering himself to go through the cat flap into the kitchen. It's made me imagine the estate agent blurb: 'The house has the advantage of patio doors. In an emergency, there is also a cat flap which leads to the Feline Diner, which also doubles up as a human kitchen.'

Oh my God I am thoroughly ashamed of myself! I deserve that dirty look and send apologies to Sybil, Finlay and Cedric. If I knew where you lived I would send Dreamies. If you knew where I lived I dread to think what consequences would await me ....

@Pudmyboy the stray cat forgives you. She's saving all her disgust for me because I've turned the heat off (sun) and put the water on (rain).

Peace reigns at the moment

Just been round Annie's for a bit to admire Izzy and Thrifty. Watching Izzy watching cat TV featuring mice was VERY cute, especially when she tried reaching under the screen to see if she could get to the ones who had popped into a mouse hole on screen.

@Pudmyboy sympathies. I left Sybil off a list of cats I enjoy seeing on here once and felt awful!
Actually I do not have favourites on this thread I love seeing the antics of all our cats
