Great set of cat pictures & updates over the weekend. Love them all 😻.
Ours however are in disgrace this morning. Woken up by Basil at about 4.00 by him stomping over us and purring his head off. We obviously weren't responding adequately because he then bit Mrs G's nose (accompanied by a loud shriek).

Just gone 5.00 Lenny woke us up again. He miaows in his sleep and was obviously having a particularly exciting dream. He eventually woke himself up too and left the room.
Basil is now in bed between us. Karl is on my pillow. Both are purring loudly. Think it's a hint.

Breadcat24 · 30/09/2024 09:12

I am used to being woken by the cat all night but the nose biting is taking things too far!

KeziaOAP · 30/09/2024 09:20

Grumpy where was Sybil when the waking up and nose biting was going on?

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 30/09/2024 09:34

@Grumpyoldpersonwithcats we keep Louie shut in the kitchen overnight (he has everything he needs in there, and it's a good size room, nothing cruel about it) for precisely this reason, and did the same with our previous girl.

My DP works abroad a lot and occasionally if he's away Louie will hop onto our bed just before bedtime, curl up sweetly at the bottom, and I think, okay, you can stay since it's just us. By 5am I am cursing my choices.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 30/09/2024 09:44

We've always had cats on/in bed at night, and accept the odd 'interruption' to sleep - but yes, nose biting is really out of order 🤣.

Sybil sleeps on the kitchen table at present - only when it gets really cold at night is she likely to come and join us on the bed.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 30/09/2024 09:55

A not untypical photo from last winter when I'd actually given up and just got out of bed. Mrs G (the lump on the left!!) is clearly made of sterner stuff than I am, so stayed put. 🤣

intelligent Sybil, positioning herself early for your cereal bowl

I can see why you had to get up, there's nowhere you could stretch your legs to that wouldn't disrupt a cat's leisure, unless you are as bendy as cooked spaghetti

RumNotRun · 30/09/2024 11:32

None of mine will come upstairs at the moment which is unusual. I even took the tin of Dreamies up the other night to try to lure someone up for a cuddle, but it didn't work. Ghostie will come into the back bedroom to watch the birds having their breakfast but that's it. I miss having kitten cuddles.

TheShellBeach · 30/09/2024 11:45

We haven't got an upstairs anymore, as we live in a bungalow designed for the aged

I've got an app on my phone which tells me the weather. I don't know why.

It invariably says "about to rain" "raining" or "rain has just stopped".

I feel like pointing out to it that we're in Argyll, and I can see the weather out of the window anyway. And that rain is a constant feature of our lives on the west coast of Scotland.

Right. I'm off to the lunch club for old people

Hmm.
Returned from the lunch club to discover that Guillermo had kindly been sick on the duvet.

Thanks for that.

He obviously thought you should have taken him out for lunch. He has expressed his disdain for being left home.

With Sybil really making a point of keeping us apart 🤣.

I do remember that day waking up feeling very uncomfortable and severely restricted in movement.

Are you sure it wasn't Picard trying to frame the poor misjudged Gizmo?

If Picard had been in the house, fur would have flown.

They really don't get on.

Can I join? Here are 3 of our girls cuddled up to me when I woke up the other day. I felt rather restricted, but really warm, as they came for the heat.

Here is a better photo of Amber, who in the last picture was stretched between me and mr Inks. She usually never leaves the food bowl, just in case someone comes by to give any food.

Oh they are all gorgeous! That is a very well cleaned bowl, did they clean it for you?

TheShellBeach · 30/09/2024 18:09

Hello @Inks42 what lovely cats.

They're looking very accusing, sitting by the empty bowls.

RumNotRun · 30/09/2024 18:19

@Inks42 snap! I also have a dilute tortie. She's called Ghostie (cause of her colouring) and is a tripod cat.

They look like they are saying "Only 2 bowls? 2 EMPTY bowls..." 😆

Hello to all at Ink's house!

Oops, forgot the photo!
