Well done Tobias!

Papergirl1968 · 06/03/2024 10:07

So pleased to hear that. Bravo, Tobias!

TheShellBeach · 06/03/2024 11:04

Yay Tobias! You're a star! And so is Allergic, for all her patience with you!

Darling Tobias, he’s living his life of love at last.

CeciledeVolangesdeNouveau · 06/03/2024 13:10

Hi everyone,

Sorry to have been quiet on the Velvet front. I'm in hospital and I think when I'm out I'll be moving out pretty soon, which means I'll be losing my beloved girl for all intents and purposes. Sorry, it's been really difficult to read cat-related stuff. Furry cuddles to all. xx

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 06/03/2024 13:12

Delighted that you continue to make progress with Tobias @Allergictoironing. Very pleased for both of you.

TemporaryCatSlave · 06/03/2024 14:22

@CeciledeVolangesdeNouveau I'm glad to hear you are OK. If you can move out and cut contact with your family I think that is absolutely the best thing for you long term. Living with your parents is clearly not helping your recovery.

I take it there no way you can take Velvet with you (?), which is very, very sad as I know how much comfort she has given you. But focus on the future - one day a special cat will be there to love you and be loved by you. Not to replace Velvet of course and you'll never forget her and all she's done for you so far, but there is another cat out there meant for you, who can be a part of your new happy life. Hold on to that thought and get better.

@Allergictoironing We are all awaiting the moment Tobias lets you give him a proper full stroke, and the miracle moment he becomes a loving lapcat. It will happen!

TheShellBeach · 06/03/2024 15:56

Dear Cecile. You've been through so much. I'm sorry you're stuck in hospital again.

But I'm glad you're going to be proactive and that you're going to move out of your mother's place. That's a huge step forward.

I know it's unbearable for you to think that you will get another cat, because you'll always miss your darling Velvet. I'm hoping that you'll receive assistance with finding supported accommodation, and that eventually you'll be able to give a home to a different cat.

As the others have said @CeciledeVolangesdeNouveau this may be a great move for you. Velvet has been a fantastic part of your life but, when you're ready, another cat will be there to love (and terrorise) you.

Anniegetyourgun · 06/03/2024 18:38

To both Cecile and Allergic - exactly what they said!

This is the first time I know about that both the girls have been in the cat tree, so calls for a photo I reckon. Since I took the snap they've curled up more tightly, no stray limbs hanging out. Thrifty is normally one of those cats who sleeps in all kinds of interesting inside-out-upside-down positions, while Izzy is more of a curler-upper.

To add: I took it before closing the curtains in case it startled them, but they took it in their stride. Coming along indeed.

Here's my little foster cat 😊 She's been very brave for the last couple of days, comes into the living room when I'm there and even let me stroke her head a little this morning 😊

Aw she's absolutely gorgeous. Just a poppet!
How long have you had her now? She's getting braver.

She's been here seven weeks today. She's getting there now 😊 I'm so happy that she let me stroke her.

Yes, that's a real step forward. What's her name again? I keep thinking it's Tara but I have a feeling that's wrong.

My next door neighbour told me this evening that Picard went into her house, had a look round, then left.

He was clearly disappointed not to find any spare cat food there.

My neighbour hasn't got a cat, to be quite clear.

@TheShellBeach her name is Tita, so not far out!

JaceLancs · 07/03/2024 21:00

Easter has arrived and Finlay is very excited - colourful things to run off with and the prospect of rolled up balls of chocolate wrappers to chase

And it's a hit with Lenny too.

No 'Allergic' reactions thus far from anyone.

Ahh presents from holidays! You know they’re going to expect presents everytime now Grumpy! Did you get one for TC? Otherwise he will point out the unfair…

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 08/03/2024 16:13

There are 6 in the package so yes - I'll give one to TC. 😁

RumNotRun · 08/03/2024 16:42

I'm glad your cats are all enjoying them and there have been no reactions. Poor Leroy was unlucky 😔

I wonder what TC will think of the stick, will it be beneath a predator of his magnitude or will he resort to being the cute little kitten we all know he is under that gruff exterior? I don't think we've ever had photos of him with a toy. Other than your hands of course!

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 08/03/2024 16:50

Yes - I'd seen that Linney didn't react well to them.

Typically ours (except Karl who was unimpressed) went mad for them for a few minutes but then quickly got bored.
More bits of random cat detritus filling the house...
