Fingers crossed for you. I can't think of anyone who deserves a happy outcome more than you do, but in this life there are no guarantees. Keep on keeping on and give Fortune the chance to work things out. Er, I think I've done the cheesy thing again 😳

Y'know, I just adopted these cats a few days ago, and they weren't the ones I'd gone to check out; I had to pick Thrifty because DS was immediately taken with her, in fact the only cat he was at all interested in, and then her next-cage neighbour because we were pretty sure they'd be ok together. I was prepared to take the ones we'd gone to see (although they didn't seem to like us much!) but I wouldn't do that to DS. He was right, anyway 😉We've been taking turns feeding and playing with them so they are both comfortable with both of us, and if one or both like him better, so be it. It's not a competition. Those are my cats, and my offspring, so they're all family and it's brilliant if they get along. Right? Right!

Finlay is enjoying his exercise routine - of at least the treats that accompany it!

Annie coming second to your resident DS is no insult when it comes to cats; it isn't a comment on you it's a comment on him (in a good way of course).

I think he stroked Girlcat the day I first managed to touch her, which for an infrequent visitor says an awful lot about him!

SequentialAnalyst · 15/02/2024 23:24

Dear departed Midnight adored DS. After he first left for university, I realised that she and I were both wandering round the house wondering where he'd gone...

Linney allowed DS2 to stroke him on the very day they met.

I was amazed.

I was amazed.

And possibly just a teeny weeny bit jealous? I do wish I had his way with cats, with my propensity of re-homing scared cats that need much patience, that would be a real boon.

Oh yes, definitely jealous.
It wasn't long after Emerald died and Linney was just getting much more used to being on his own, and letting us stroke him more.

He still loves DS2. Comes right over to him when he visits.

Heavenly pix to start the day here, once I’ve done three breakfasts and wiped the leg scratch Havelock gifted me for not being fast enough with pouch ripping.

Today’s cat grass planting day (me). Tomorrow is cat grass seed digging up day (Prince).

Basil normally sleeps at the foot of our bed, but last night I woke to find him on my pillow, purring his head off, and making my head rather hot.

I discovered when I got up in the morning that this special treatment was simply because he'd barfed up his dinner all over the foot of the bed and floor so it clearly wasn't fit for him to sleep there anymore...

I expect he'd been reading Linney's Guide to Vomiting.

I can only assume so 🤮.
(If only there were a barfing cat emoji)

Paws is back! I only go on FB these days to check on Shady and Paws, but Paws hasn't been round there to visit for nearly four weeks. Thankfully there's a couple of posts today to show that Stinky Pawpaws is back and exploring the new toys, much to Shady's disgust 😂

Supersimkin2 · 16/02/2024 17:44

💐 Grumpy. Petcare on a stick, that.

Yay to Paws and Shady.

YesItsMeIDontCare · 16/02/2024 21:49

PAWS!!!!

RumNotRun · 16/02/2024 22:08

I'm glad other people are as happy as I am, although the comments on the FB page are equally excited. If only Paws knew that so many people love him. Oh and Shady of course!

Papergirl1968 · 16/02/2024 22:09

Was great to see Paws back. I wish he would move in but I think he’s a free spirit.

Nutty the Maine Coon hanging out of her bed, she was like this for 2 hours till I gave her a poke to check if she was alive.

Sorry no idea why the photos are wrong way round!

What amazing markings Nutty has. Looks a bit like a lion.

He's got an owner apparently 😯

Why would he move in? He's got the freedom to come and go as he pleases, a full belly whenever he wants one, warm shelter (probably several) if he needs it... and he calls all the shots. Perfect cat life.

I still wish he'd move in too though 😂

We used to have Barney. Total free spirit, fed by 5 houses, bed available at 3 (other 2 had dogs), registered at 2 vets just in case, owned by no-one except himself thank you very much 😁

Papergirl1968 · 16/02/2024 22:57

Not a very good owner, apparently though. I’m glad he can rock up to stay with Queen and Shady whenever he wants.

Supersimkin2 · 16/02/2024 23:28

So am I. Darling Paws, wish he’d make the final commitment.

Allergictoironing · 17/02/2024 08:18

Morning cuteness.

My attention was caught by a news story when I came down, so Girlcat & Tobias were on the floor near each other in Sphynx position waiting for me to do breakfast. I suddenly saw that they were tail dueling!

Rear ends were close to each other with tails along the floor rather than tucked round. One would flick their tail against the others, who would respond in kind, then a sort of weird ballet of the 2 tails flicking & moving round each other. Both looked reasonably content, and they weren't even looking at each other just watching for me to make a move towards the kitchen to feed them.

YesItsMeIDontCare · 17/02/2024 08:20

United in adversity 😂

Supersimkin2 · 17/02/2024 12:07

Oh how lovely Allergic. They’re working as a nutritional supply team.

TheShellBeach · 17/02/2024 13:57

I padded wearily through to the kitchen this morning to discover both Linney and Picard waiting for their breakfast.

Picard must've spent the night here, but Mr SB and I cannot recall him entering the house.

Just wondering now if he and Linney have constructed a hidden tunnel (cats, for the use of).
