Keep your paws crossed that Penelope (also to be known as Pickle) will be right for Cheddar and arrive soon.
I'm a bit confused by her story, but she's an ex show cat. So hopefully will be healthy.
She's not yet in the rescue so we do t k ow her personality. But from what I've seen as show cats. They are pretty docile.

The rescue told me about her when O told them of Magic's death. And when I got to work that night. We had a patient called Penelope. So I take it as a sign!

I'm trying to speed it up a bit but the rescue is busy.

She must be feeling ok if she's hatching dastardly ambush plans!

Toddlerteaplease · 20/01/2024 10:38

It was absolutely hilarious, I've never seen her do that before. She knew I'd seen her. But Cheddar hadn't.

Just looking back at the beginning of they'd thread. The cat I thought I was getting. Placid, a cooperative traveller, in good health. Is not quite what I actually got. But in a good way. Hopefully now he teeth are not causing discomfort she'll blossom.

She's very subdued and slept on the stairs again. But was happy for fussing. She did come on the bed this morning for a cuddle which is good. Still eating well.

Madam has found her voice again. Been for check up and the nurse is happy with her.

Brilliant, she's doing so well.

Toddlerteaplease · 23/01/2024 11:42

Hmm. Something is upsetting her, she's gone back to hiding at the back of the wardrobe. She's not done that for ages. Although she might have realised that the prime time for me grabbing her and giving loxicom is after breakfast. So is trying to out wit me. She's very good at that. I did wonder if Cheds is bullying her a bit.

Can you put the loxicom in her food? We did that with Harry's as there was no way we could get him to take it any other way

YetAnotherSpartacus · 23/01/2024 12:31

Good to see you, Pink!

Scampuss · 23/01/2024 13:40

Good point about food, my last old boy had his drizzled on a lick-e-lix (quickly realised he scoffed it even if I didn't mix it!).

Toddlerteaplease · 23/01/2024 13:55

She's very good about taking it. The problem is capturing her to take it! My parents cat gets shown the syringe and he openes him mouth for it!

I've noticed that now her ears are better, so Is her hearing. So the stealthy approach is getting more tricky! Stealth not needed at all for Cheds. She loves a cuddle.

Loving the idea of your parents' cat opening his mouth without being told. What a sweet boy.

Yes, please set up that thread! Cheddar & Pickle?

Toddlerteaplease · 23/01/2024 15:51

His cooperation only extends to metacam. Spot on few treatments are a huge drama.

Oh what a cutie! Love the bonus pic.

One of ours is the same with meds - not hard to actually medicate but very clever and therefore hard to catch. It's a daily battle to catch her unawares.

The other (both hyperthyroid) just thinks she is getting a nice cuddle and never seems to learn that morning cuddle = meds.

I've started a new thread!
