Keep your paws crossed that Penelope (also to be known as Pickle) will be right for Cheddar and arrive soon.
I'm a bit confused by her story, but she's an ex show cat. So hopefully will be healthy.
She's not yet in the rescue so we do t k ow her personality. But from what I've seen as show cats. They are pretty docile.

The rescue told me about her when O told them of Magic's death. And when I got to work that night. We had a patient called Penelope. So I take it as a sign!

I'm trying to speed it up a bit but the rescue is busy.

That's great news on the ears.

Crikey.

Toddlerteaplease · 03/01/2024 22:16

I know and when I phoned to book her in, they wanted a 50% deposit. I checked the price with my parents old vet. As both Cheddar and Magiv had their dentals there. As it was half the price. But as she needs x rays this time. There is very little difference. I'm
Puzzled by this reabsorption lesion, it was seen on her first vet visit. Then disappeared and we could t find it, nothing was mentioned when she was spayed. And now its reappeared!

The rescue still think she should be treated with oral drugs! 🫣😬

Lots of mums watch it with their children. Just because your "child" is more hirsute than others doesn't mean you can't watch it too. Lovely photo 😍

This mornings punch up is apparently forgotten.
I was in the shower and a little grey head poked round the shower curtain. I almost had heart failure!! She's clearly learnt from Cheddar that I don't need personal space. 🤣

Has her facial fur turned white?

Toddlerteaplease · 06/01/2024 11:24

I'm going to be in so much trouble with Penelope on Wednesday morning. I thought it would be a great idea to book her into the vet for her dental, straight after my night shift. Then I have a day with her before I'm back at work. Until I realised that I'll have to take her biscuits away at 1830. Instead of 2200. She's a walking stomach. My plan is to leave wet food out for her when I leave. As she will have finished it by 2200. Wish me luck 🤣

Good luck with that!

Trying to tell Cheddar that she needs to eat now. Or she won't get any. She's not bothered!

Dropped Penelope at the vet this morning. Poor thing. I've never seen a cat so scared. She was shaking. She got lots of snuggles and kisses before I left her though.

All the best Penelope!

Toddlerteaplease · 10/01/2024 15:05

She's got five reabsorption lesions. So needs five teeth out. But they won't do them today. As the procedure would be too long. I'm really cross. I'd never have consented to a two stage procedure.

OP posts:
Scampuss · 10/01/2024 15:06

That is annoying. How is she?

Toddlerteaplease · 10/01/2024 15:16

Hiding in her kennel apparently. Picking her up at 6.20. But I did say that if she's really distressed I'll get her early.

Toddlerteaplease · 10/01/2024 19:09

I've seen the X rays and they are really bad. So I get why she need to procedures. She's been very quiet and cooperative at the vet. Just put her paw out for the cannula apparently. But perked up
The minute she saw me.

Oh poor baby!!

Mine absolutely hated the vets too and would start drooling when we walked into reception so had to keep her in car until her appointment time. And I mean drooled, where it started in her mouth and ended up in a continuous line on the floor. Would they offer a sedative she can take at home first?
