I'm a bit confused by her story, but she's an ex show cat. So hopefully will be healthy.
She's not yet in the rescue so we do t k ow her personality. But from what I've seen as show cats. They are pretty docile.

The rescue told me about her when O told them of Magic's death. And when I got to work that night. We had a patient called Penelope. So I take it as a sign!

I'm trying to speed it up a bit but the rescue is busy.

My messages. (Unusual). The other branch of of the rescue have an 11 month old red boy. Given up as his owner apparently didn't have enough time to spend with him. Not seen any pics yet. But I don't know what to do!

If you get the boy you'll have to call him Lester (Red Leicester) to go with Cheddar.

Do you think Cheddar would like a teenage young cat hanging around with her?

Don't know. That's my concern, though she is also behaving like a teenager at the minute. They said he's pretty dopey!

I think you need to see the red boy before making your mind up. I have always had a boy and a girl and I like having one of each, but Pickle is super-lovely, just want to take her out of that basket and give her a cuddle.

You may find three fit into your space but it would increase all your bills.

Leicester would be a lovely name.

Could you do a sort of meetup for Cheddar with the boy to see if they get on?

Penelope Pickle is gorgeous, but I think we need pics of the red boy too.

I'm waiting on pics. It would be much easier for me run up and meet him. As it's only two hours away. I'll await pictures.

I suggested this with Magic, when I got cheddar. They didn't think it was a good idea.

In my experience, cats don't get on when they first meet - that doesn't mean they won't get on after a careful introductory period.

Introducing cheddar to magic, too 39 seconds and that was it!

No, we decided against it and are remaining catless for the foreseeable future. Harry has left paws that are too big to fill for the moment and neither of us feel ready. We're planning on rethinking next year and hopefully we'll feel ready when we get back from holiday in May.

That sounds really sensible, Pink. It also gives time for you to choose the 'right one' or for the right one to choose you.

So, the rescue have messaged and they are collecting Penelope next weekend, so will go and meet her. Not sure when she will be ready for home as she wants to check she's free from bugs or fungal infections. I can wait as long as I've met her and think she'll be right for madam.

Apparently the boy cat wouldn't be suitable for me as he needs someone at home more. So that's settled my dilemma.
