Keep your paws crossed that Penelope (also to be known as Pickle) will be right for Cheddar and arrive soon.
I'm a bit confused by her story, but she's an ex show cat. So hopefully will be healthy.
She's not yet in the rescue so we do t k ow her personality. But from what I've seen as show cats. They are pretty docile.

The rescue told me about her when O told them of Magic's death. And when I got to work that night. We had a patient called Penelope. So I take it as a sign!

I'm trying to speed it up a bit but the rescue is busy.

I completely forgot to ask about that. My dad suggested it. Putting her back in her carrier absolutely shaking and clinging to me was not nice.

The nurse commented that she wasn't that bad when she ent for her spay. She was cross but not frightened. I'll ring them tomorrow and see if they'll prescribe something.

She's more her normal self this morning. Not too impressed with loxicom. Despite me telling her, that her cousin just opens his mouth when he sees the syringe. (Was gobsmacked when I saw him do that. He's usually a drama queen)

She's going back next Friday for extractions. It will be the same vet who's been treating her ears, so she's going to have a good look at them too. She's blossomed since her ears have improved. So will be interesting to see what happens when she's out of pain from her teeth. Apparently it is very painful.

Her bills currently are standing at around £1000 since adopting her. She's giving Magic and Maia a run for their money!

I was told it's the equivalent to humans having a cracked tooth so every time you eat it causes pain in that tooth. Poor thing has five. Cats are extremely good at hiding pain which isn't helpful in a domestic setting. Ours refused to show the vet any pain at all, not a smidgen. Very much a stiff upper lip, we're in the middle of a world war type which was out of place in a very small (2.35kg) furry bundle 😂

A thousand pounds already? It's a good job she's so cute!

@Pixiedust1234 I got caught out a couple of times with Magic in severe pain and not showing it. I always keep a bottle of Loxicom in stock now.

My family are telling me not yo have any more Persians. But I just love them!

Isn't that like telling you not to breathe? Impossible!

Maybe next time they say it mention it might be more helpful if they upped their life insurance 😬

Their view is that the res he are enabling dodgy breeders. My view is that, it's going to happen anyway. And the cats need help. I think they also think the rescue is a bit dodgy. But I adopted all of mine in good faith. None of the subsequent issues could have been predicted. Particularly with Magic and Maia. And out of the 8 other cats adopted because of mine. None have had issues.

Until all breeders are decent, and I can't imagine that ever happening while people continue to not care about the conditions and welfare of their new kitten/puppy's parents, I'd rather rescues did the rehoming instead of the 'surplus' cats being sold off.

Exactly, at least the rescues break the cycle for their cats, by having them spayed . And rehomed as pets.

My friend came round today. I couldn't believe how confident Penelope was with him. She's usually hidden from visitors before. She was climbing on him, and very friendly. I'm so proud of her!! Cheddar absolutely adores him as well. He's gone home absolutely covered in cat fluff. 😂

As long as his pocket isn't covered in warm, purry kitty fluff...

I think she has learnt to trust Cheddar tbh. If Cheddar is okay then the situation must be okay. If Cheddar likes this person then she would probably like them too. Bit like trusting a big sister 💕

Yes. She spends a lot of time just watching what Cheddar does. If Cheddar is draping her self round me. Penelope will either be on her tree or on the end of the sofa. And she is clearly copying her behaviour. It's fascinating to watch.

That's so lovely that she is learning from Cheddar!

Is there anything nicer, if you're visiting a friend, than their cat(s) snuggling up to you? It always feels like such an honour.

My friends cats run a mile when I come round!

I'm trying to palm Penelope off with PAH flakes in gravy. As it's cheaper than Sheba for bigger sachets. Unfortunately Madam is having none of it!

I take issue with the sticker on the side of the box, that says 100% satisfaction guarantee! I'm going to have to capitulate and get some Sheba as she's having five teeth out tomorrow.

She's put quite a bit of weight on since I adopted her. The last thing she is doing is wasting away. I had to poke her to feel her spine.
