Oh Shell, so sorry to hear that. All you can do is make her as comfortable as you can for as long as you can, and of course spoil her rotten.

Bloody contrary Tobias!

I mentioned that he's picked up where Boycat left off in removing wallpaper, he's also well into destroying cardboard boxes with his magnificent talons. So thinking I was being a) smart and b) a good cat slave, I very firmly attached a cardboard scratcher to his favorite wall for ruining.

Naturally he is now ignoring that wall completely and has redoubled his efforts on a cardboard box (full of stuff of course).

Tobias has come out of shell, I see.

Please don't stop posting pictures and anecdotes!

I know there's always a tendency to hold back a little when there's news of a very sick cat or one that'll soon be PTS, but I hope everyone will try to carry on as usual on the thread. I enjoy it so much - and understand that there's a natural pause when there's bad news.

DH and I have felt your kindness and support since yesterday. I knew you'd all rally round! Your messages have really helped us both.

Emerald has recovered well from the anaesthetic and is eating. Her breathing is definitely better since the fluid was drained.

The vet says the fluid will come back within three days............and to bring her back at any time before then if she's distressed. So that's what the plan is at the moment.

As you all know, cats can appear to be well, even when they're absolutely not.
We shall have to see what happens.

I am not having any trouble whatsoever giving her the tablets she was prescribed yesterday - well, maybe a little.

@Allergictoironing Maybe Girlcat has told Tobias what Boycat used to do vis-a-vis the wallpaper.

The tribe hates me today. They have all had their monthly flea treatment and so are hiding in various places, glaring at me or running away if I dare to go near them.

We got news in work that we're getting a bonus at the end of the month. I was going to use it to get the cats a catio but I don't know if I want to now that they're being mean 😞

You'll have forgiven them tomorrow when they're back to their usual selves, Rum - one always does.

Isn't that the whole point of cats? To teach us our true position in the world & humility. 😁

Prince slept on my back, purring madly and kindly grooming me. Forgot he’d done my hair until I heard the security guard in m and s’s jaw drop and he reached for his radio.

I'm very sad to tell you that Emerald died peacefully this evening.
DH and I took her back to the vet's as her breathing had deteriorated.
She had a further X Ray under anaesthetic, where a large tumour in her lung was seen.
We all agreed that putting her to sleep was the kindest thing to do.

Oh Shell. I am so desperately desperately sorry. Most beautiful girl ❤️❤️❤️
The Litter tray will miss her so much ❤️

My heart breaks for everyone who has lost a beloved pet. They were all so loved and we have all been fortunate to know them

So sorry @TheShellBeach for your sad news, sounds like she became so ill so very quickly, but that also means she did not suffer long, and had time with those that loved her best💐
