New thread.
Continuing the adventures of all our cats, the well-behaved and the less well-behaved.

Hi all, sorry I'm a bit absent atm, just seem to drop in with kitten pics every few days and dash off again. Lots going on in real life. Exciting to read about potential new cats! I'm very very proud of my two. Snuggling is now a regular occurrence. Walter is so good. Benny is so cheeky and playful. Love him lots.

DH had his appointment with the radiologist today. It did NOT go well, it is NOT as fixable as the surgeon led us to believe, he's going to need chemo as well as radiotherapy & surgery and it's going to take twice as long as expected.

Have a pic of Leroy simply because

Very sorry to read that YesItsme. It must all seem very bleak. I know two people undergoing chemo at the moment and they have found it's going quicker than they thought. Surgery and chemo is still a lot for anyone though.

LostCats · 16/08/2023 16:30

I’m so sorry to see that Yes. Sending much love and positive purry wishes from the Lost household.

plus Leroy is gorgeous (as always)

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 16/08/2023 16:48

Sorry to hear that Yes. I hope that despite more complex and lengthy treatment than you were led to expect, your DH still has a positive outcome.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 16/08/2023 18:51

We have a shrew. In the living room. Cats are very interested. The shrew is doing a very good job of both avoiding the cats and avoiding being caught by me...

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 16/08/2023 19:03

Currently completely inaccessible- exploring the record collection 🤣

Oh, Yes - that isn't good news, is it?
I hope things go as well as possible for your husband.

Save the shrew, she's cute.

Yes, I'm sorry to hear the news is worse. Love to you all.x

YesItsMeIDontCare · 16/08/2023 21:40

Thanks guys 😊

Black humour has kicked in again in the Yes household. The black cat is kicking me in the head. He's on the windowsill behind the bed and my head is, apparently, in his personal space. I wouldn't mind but I was here first!

TheSilveryPussycat · 16/08/2023 22:00

Wellies on their sides round the room, chase shrew around till it goes in one of them, grab welly, take outside.

Mind you, when I used to use this method to rescue the live presents DCat brought in (she was an excellent hunter), we had a lot of wellies, DC1's size down to smaller than DC2's size.

You may have to improvise on this theme, Grumpy Wink

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 16/08/2023 22:43

Sorry to report that the shrew didn't make it.
Found him in the dining room (a locked room mystery!) Buried at sea.
I'm normally quite good at catching random rodents using either hands or take away food trays and then returning them to the wild, but this one eluded me.

TheSilveryPussycat · 17/08/2023 00:11

Does TC hunt, @Grumpyoldpersonwithcats ?

Does TC hunt, @Grumpyoldpersonwithcats ?

He does - and he delivers his prey to NDN.
Unlike ours who obviously hunt for their own benefit...

Supersimkin2 · 17/08/2023 09:19

The more treatment you get the better, Yes. Crossing the Is and dotting the Ts is the way to go for cancer, even tho it seems to take forever. Sorry for you both though, no one wants a marathon. We’re here for the duration with you.

Face of an angel sweetly sniffing flowers, little tender Leroy.

Got woken up with a bite (Prince) and Havelock, who announces his arrival
by tinkling his collar bell. Service!

Supersimkin2 · 17/08/2023 09:27

Well done on disappearing the shrew Grumpy. Cats will be pleased you had an extra-large supper.

The vet’s flatly refused to trim
Havelock’s claws ‘after last time’. So has the groomer. He’s got eagle talons now. Thoughts? It’s a DIY job isn’t it.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 17/08/2023 09:43

Super - I had to trim Monty's claws when was old because he could no longer manage them.
I used to do them bit by bit when he was fast asleep - could normally get through one paw per session.

Supersimkin2 · 17/08/2023 09:59

That’s brilliant 🤩- thanks. Will give it a go.

So many beautiful cats.

We have Sox a gorgeous ginger girl.
Gizmo a very grumpy tabby who hates my dh
Rosie who doesn't actually belong to us but (with her owner's knowledge) appears to have moved in.
Suki a beautiful Maine Coon who is just 9 weeks old.
