Agatha went out a couple of summers ago during BBQ season and stole from one of the neighbours. A huge lump of smoked cheese. She doesn't even like smoked cheese... To be fair, she did leave it in the "present spot", so maybe it was for me. It was certainly a more pleasant clean up than the usual mice and frogs.

@TheShellBeach Emerald had such a beautiful, perfectly round face. How is Linney doing?

@Grumpyoldpersonwithcats your photo of TC reminds me of that diagram of Darwin's theory of evolution 🙀🙀🙀

Linney kindly left us a dead bird yesterday, right in the middle of the carpet.

Emerald had such a beautiful, perfectly round face. How is Linney doing?

She did! And DD said she thought that picture of Emerald looked like she was smiling.

Linney is more tactile than usual and spends quite a lot of time looking out of the window.
He settled himself next to me on the sofa yesterday, in Emerald's usual spot, and let me stroke him. I was rewarded with a lot of purring and some chirruping, too.

I discovered a lot of matted fur near his tail - he's quite an old man now (10) and his fur is very long - maybe he cannot reach those bits. I shall see if he lets me use the Furminator on him.

They seem to be very good at snaffling pieces of meat from people's plates.

He is an expert plate snaffler although once only managed to steal a piece of broccoli which he was a tad confused about, but then ate anyway.

Oh dear. Once you are made aware of something like that you just can't unsee it 🤣.

Frankenstein is a very good boy, he eats all his veg 😀 He even tried lettuce the other day but didn't like it. Basically his thinking seems to be that if it's on my plate then he will like it.

Sorry Grumpy 😂

Bolly (the gentle champagne coloured cat) was back today. No photos unfortunately but he was feisty and demonstrated his martial arts skills 🤨 Two customers asked me if he was my cat...ermm no, I don't pack my cat into my car and take him to work every morning 😂

Was it Frankenstein who ate your chilli chop? He is very adventurous diet-wise!

nettie434 · 10/07/2023 21:59

Oh, not a chilli chop- a far grander marinaded chop - even more impressive!

Maybe that explains TC's behaviour - his inner angst that he hasn't developed opposable thumbs so he can get in and out of Grumpy's house when he wants! Sticking with the 19th century theme, TC also reminds me of Tennyson - 'nature red in tooth and claw' 😀

Yup, he is the prime suspect. Still no ill effects from his bottom so clearly he is a weirdo. The others have all been fine too, not that I expect Frank to have shared. He's so tiny but none of the big cats dare to try to take food from him.

Emerald looks so wise and calm in that photo. It's a beautiful picture of her.

RumNotRun · 11/07/2023 10:39

Lidl have the Dreamies version of Lick e Lix at the moment. They're smaller but Frankenstein is very approving of them. I'm being mean and trying to keep them as a treat for just him so that I can buy his love.

LostCats · 11/07/2023 11:33

Well that was wild. Just took Eko for his annual vacs. Always super easy, he’s happy and purrs etc.
This time he’s gained a bit of weight (I think it’s muscle 😉). Beloved vet said he could do with losing a bit. And then it all got a bit dangerous. He was hissing and growling and they even had to get a nurse to hold him in a towel for his vacs.
Now I know they aren’t ‘meant’ to understand but it’s a little coincidental that the D word was mentioned and he got very very angry immediately thereafter…

TheShellBeach · 11/07/2023 11:35

Linney has never been accepting of the Furminator before, but he let me have quite a good go yesterday.

He seems to be more mellow at the moment.

Good news re Linney. He’ll feel much better after a groom, very healing.
