Thug cat part 5 - For he will not do destruction, if he is well-fed, neither will he spit without provocation.

Christopher Smart had clearly never met TC.
Due to popular demand (and a fear of lynching by the denizens of Mumsnet if I failed to comply) please find enclosed the 5th (🙀) thread about my NDN's cat.
For any new arrivals to this thread, TC is a stripy thug who spends most of his waking hours trying to break into our house. He doesn't get on with our cats (with the possible exception of Sybil, but only if she's in the mood). He currently is at war with Lenny.
He occasionally behaves like a perfect gentleman, his more normal MO however is to be a hissing spitting ball of teeth and claws.
For any one daft enough, here are the last 4000 posts about him
thread1
thread2
thread3
thread4
For anyone far too sensible to trawl through the above threads, here are a few of his photographic highlights. And yes, the last one is him on my kitchen table...

Bloody cat is now yelling his head off outside the front door. Basil and Karl are most discombobulated.

I'm a bit late checking in but I was delighted to find TC Thread 5. I've never read the whole of the Christopher Smart poem but TC has quite a lot in common with Jeoffrey.

For he has the subtlety but not when it comes to breaking into Grumpy's house and hissing of a serpent, which in goodness he suppresses occasionally.

I think you were already on 2 when I discovered these threads but I never fail to be delighted and shocked by TC in equal measure. Thanks Grumpy especially and everyone posting.

The Tail of TC is a modern classic.

All that mewing - Does he want to come in Grumpy?

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 19/02/2023 10:08

All that mewing - Does he want to come in Grumpy? Ooh, hadn't thought of that 🤣.
I haven't actually seen the beast yet this morning.

2 small black cats are out, Basil is on my lap, but will soon be turfed off (so I can go and sing in the merrie village choir), and Sybil is asleep on the kitchen table having shared our cooked breakfast.

God 's in His heaven, All 's right with the world! Bet it won't last

And he's back. Knew it was too good to last 😹

He just wants to check the gas certificate.

Florissant · 20/02/2023 06:58

Can I talk to you about cheeses?

YetAnotherSpartacus · 20/02/2023 08:33

Hey Grumpy - please do ask your NDN to do this quiz!

We want to know the nature of his relationship with TC!

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 20/02/2023 08:44

I will ask, but not guaranteeing he'll do it.
My results were surprisingly accurate.
The Friendship
This relationship seems to occur more often in busy households with more than one cat, and the cats often have some outside access.

OP posts:
YetAnotherSpartacus · 20/02/2023 08:50

Aw. You and TC are 'friends' :)

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 20/02/2023 09:00

I was NOT considering TC when I answered the questionnaire 🤣

OP posts:
Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 20/02/2023 09:17

OK - I have now answered the quiz thinking in terms of TC.
Apparently we have a 'Casual Relationship'.
Was assuming we'd be identified as 'Frenemies' 😹

OP posts:
YetAnotherSpartacus · 20/02/2023 10:53

Casual Relationship sounds a bit FWB to me.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 20/02/2023 11:03

YetAnotherSpartacus · 20/02/2023 10:53

Casual Relationship sounds a bit FWB to me.

Given MN's bloody daft insistence on putting sex posts into 'active', and turning the site into a shop window to sell sex toys, I was slightly concerned about 'Casual Relationship' too 🤣

OP posts:
TheAdmiralAndFishermanFavorEntirelyDifferentPies · 20/02/2023 12:02

I reckon TC would be horrified at the use of "casual" to describe his years-long continual harassment and repeated assaults. He's put a lot of effort in and yet for you it's just a "casual relationship."

YetAnotherSpartacus · 20/02/2023 12:03

They are yet to develop a test for the cat's POV.

However, when asked for 'my pronouns' I have taken to answering "well my cats think I'm an 'it'".

Supersimkin2 · 20/02/2023 12:13

I’d expect the result to be ‘Belmarsh: Parole Hearing 2042.’

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 26/02/2023 09:19

Miaowing outside the front door this morning. Sybil investigating.

I think the term is "serenading" Grumpy.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 26/02/2023 10:01

😻😻?

Maybe not...

OP posts:
Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 26/02/2023 10:09

It's all action here this morning. TC is back, now miaowing serenading at the back door, and Sybil has immediately appeared again 🙀

OP posts:
Supersimkin2 · 26/02/2023 11:45

Could La Belle Dame sans Merci be softening towards her stripy swain?

Florissant · 26/02/2023 12:23

I find TC and Sybil rather Shakespearean in their devotion to each other.

CassandraCross · 26/02/2023 12:31

Just what is needed a collage of pictures and details of the continuing exploits of the beloved TC. Thanks @Grumpyoldpersonwithcats you always seem to capture the most wonderful facial expressions of both TC and your delightful cats.
