It is comforting. I definitely felt my childhood cat walking up the bed one night after he died.

Glad to see you posting so soon Papergirl, and keeping everything crossed for Allergic (and Girlcat)'s new companion

Rebel2 · 22/02/2023 23:46

My dad is very not woo. Our dog wore a collar which had a bit of chain, and he would always hear it clinking after she died
It's been 30 years and he sits in a chair, coffee in one hand and the other hand goes down by the chair to stroke the dog before he remembers

Just seen a message on the next door app about a black and white cat that's been abandoned on our road and to keep an eye out as it's friendly. Best send Ollie out...

nettie434 · 23/02/2023 05:50

Good to see that you are feeling well enough to post Papergirl1968. Hope you are able to go home soon - although I assume it's not for a while yet.

Impressed with welcome plans for Tobias, Allergic.

Really laughed at the description of the morning Dreamie run Supersimkin2.

Hope FattyBoy is doing ok MotherofPuffling.

Papergirl1968 · 23/02/2023 06:15

I woke up at 3am and was crying because I missed my little Socks curling up putting by me, with her paw trustingly in my hand. She won't come out from under the bed much. Matt is ok so long as he's being fed, but the dog is restless.
May be out later, Nettie, but tomorrow more likely I would say.
Will be nice to get some sleep. It's like Paddington Station in here. The men are the worst! Snoring, moaning, pulling vital tubes out...argh!

Papergirl1968 · 23/02/2023 06:28

Purring...
I predict now that rebel is having another NMC. Luckily fits into the colour scheme!

Allergictoironing · 23/02/2023 07:44

Good to hear they won't have to keep you in much longer Paper. I guess it's far too early to tell if it's made much difference?

I hadn't realised just how many assorted dresses and "posh" office trousers I had on the spare bed! With those, plus a few nice blouses, I've ended up just chucking it all into a giant box for sorting later preferably before the weather gets really warm. Can't spend much time in that room at the mo, apparently my duty is at least 2 hours per evening fussing Girlcat & being in her presence the rest of the time.

TheShellBeach · 23/02/2023 09:10

Ugh, Papergirl, are you in one of those mixed wards?
You'll be glad to get home.

Papergirl1968 · 23/02/2023 09:53

Not even a ward. It's ok of a post surgery unit. Hoping for a bed on a ward later, but the staff are amazing!
It's a very slow growing tumour so if it starts again, they are talking about radiation. Think the MRI is expected to show that the bit left is too twisted around vital bits of brain to remove, but neurosurgeon seems happy enough.

Papergirl1968 · 23/02/2023 09:58

Nice to see you're a fellow Chalet School fan, ShellBeach!
I may well read the entire series again to aid my recovery 😂

I'm still trying to complete my collection.
Have you got the dropbox link?
It's on the last thread if you want it.
Sorry. Derailing the cat thread here.

Supersimkin2 · 23/02/2023 11:47

You’re doing heroically Paper. Get the good drugs in while you can. If the surgeon’s happy, you’re out of the woods. Massively relieved and pleased for you. Keep asking for heroin.

I don’t sleep very well without Capn’s fur beside me. Mind you, Prince kipped on my shoulder - had a very thorough groom at 4am - and kindly did my hair.

Papergirl1968 · 23/02/2023 11:53

Yes, I'm rubbish at technology but luckily have them downloaded. And a lot of actual copies picked up from charity shops.
I get my hand groomed by Socks, Lana. With her rough little tongue before it is judged clean enough to hold her paw overnight!

Supersimkin2 · 23/02/2023 13:31

She’s taken a tip from yr surgeon and scrubbed up 😀

Take it easy now.

Allergictoironing · 23/02/2023 18:17

I have my hand massaged by Girlcat. Pity she uses her needle like claws to do it!

Papergirl1968 · 24/02/2023 10:59

Can come home today! Can't wait!
when's the big day, Allergic?

YesItsMeIDontCare · 24/02/2023 11:29

YAAAAY!!!! 👏🏻 👏🏻👏🏻 That fab news Paper! Fluffy cuddles await you 😁

Fantastic news Paper! And Socks will be so happy.

Tomorrow afternoon for Tobias to come home.. Just realised the one thing I don't have a spare of is a scratching post, so done a quick Amazon order, otherwise just about set I think.

I hope Tobias likes his scratching post.
Every single one of my cats has found a bit of furniture or carpet to tear apart instead of using the many scratching posts I've bought over the years.

TheShellBeach · 24/02/2023 18:42

And Paper, look after yourself when you get home.

Supersimkin2 · 24/02/2023 18:48

All the best Paper - Matt will be so pleased to see you he’ll explode in an outburst of ignoring you.

🤞 for tomorrow A& T & G.

At the vet with Ollie, he's peeing blood

Allergictoironing · 25/02/2023 12:00

Bloody hell Ollie! Can't you give your mum a couple of months off from the stress?

Rebel2 · 25/02/2023 12:02

He says no, FUNNY. He's screamed at me all the way here

Florissant · 25/02/2023 12:19

Ollie! What fresh hell is this?
