My dad always swore by his welding gloves when washing a cat. Safest gloves for that sort of dangerous activity.

@Allergictoironing take photos of ALL the kittens to tease us please. I had to ask my previous cat dealer to put me on a banned list as every time I went to a shelter event, I'd put my name down to adopt more cats.

I have my neurosurgery on Tuesday. i have written dd2 a detailed list of instructions on how and when to feed the cats and dog. Poor Socks will have to stay in till I get home. She likes to be out all day but I find it hard enough to get her in and there's no way she will come in for dd2. Instructions include feeding her separately so greedy Matt and the dog don't scoff her food.

Apoligies for the Basil overload - he's a very happy cat at the moment, making the most of a sunny patch.

Left paws as I needed to go to Aldi. It’s been 5hrs and he’s still snoring

To satisfy Grumpy, attached is a pic of the only kittens there at present - no they aren't coming home with me, though we did have to check DSis hadn't smuggled them out in her coat!

However I had meetings with a total of 8(!) cats. There were a couple of very tempting possibilities, then a few more who were lovely but not QUITE suitable - 1 didn't get on with other cats very well, and 2 others were beautiful but had the most ridiculously long coats.

Then I met Tobias. He's coming home hopefully next weekend, depending on when I can get a couple of days off work round the weekend 😍😻

That's brilliant news Allergic. Hope all goes well with introductions to Girlcat.

He has a tiny thin white strip running down the middle of his nose - so very cute!

He's rather shy at the moment, but looks like he wants to be friendly if you see what I mean, and very food driven so took chicken from my fingers.

He's 3yo, was brought in off the streets about 7 months ago all skin & bones, and un-neutered. He was neutered right away so well past the hormones stage, and he's put on loads of weight. He's sharing a big pen with 3-4 other cats, and apart from pushing (no teeth or claws) the little disabled male one when there's attention (or chicken) on the horizon he gets on really well with the girls in there.

He looks lovely, Allergic. I'm so glad you chose him.

Tobias looks lovely and snuggly! My cat Toad is also known as Toby or, when he's really naughty, he is Tobias. Your Tobias looks like he'll be much better behaved than my psycho though.

If you look at the Rolvenden website, one I was very tempted by is on there - Rookie.

Tobias is BEAUTIFUL. A fine handsome master cat of gentle strength.

He looks like Mr C! Always a sign of quality in a cat I find. Glorious variegated tabby coat, congrats. Food oriented is perfect, shows rightful zest for life.

Well Done Allergic. What about the little disabled male cat? He’s not going to be homeless is he?! DSis can’t leave him
there if so.

Already re-homed Lana 😀 He was born with shortened rear femurs - doesn't stop him somehow getting up to the top of a vertical pole though! DSis was being very tempted by a couple there, but not sure she wants another cat yet.

Tobias was technically named Toby by the people who found and were feeding him as a stray, but we decided he is definitely more a Tobias than a Toby. He is a very handsome cat, though personality and the likelihood of him getting on with Girlcat were the deciding factors of course. That and the way he looked at me, a mix of sort of scared and hopeful. He's going to take a little while before he's happy being fussed, but I have the patience and I think he's going to end up very sweet. It was only after I got "the feeling" that I even noticed what a lovely tabby coat he has!

This thread title brings back very happy memories of one of my favourite childhood books!
No cat unfortunately but so many beauties on here 🐈🐈‍⬛
