We were out of space so I thought I'd do the honours

The queue for the Queen Lying in State is only a mile away from here - already. Traffic very quiet on the roads.

Fluffycloudland77 · 14/09/2022 18:11

I’d email the ceo of habitat if a mattress collapsed after 9 months. Not fit for purpose and you need a full refund for it plus compo.

HouseofHolbein · 14/09/2022 20:28

I have an Eve hybrid mattress. Got it reconditioned off eBay for about £200. Love it.

Supersimkin2 · 14/09/2022 21:04

Brilliance, will do both. I fancy an Eve cos I’ve seen them on telly.

HouseofHolbein · 15/09/2022 07:24

I have the Eve pillows too. Bloody love them. Had the whole set at least 3 years and still as comfortable as when we got them.

Allergictoironing · 15/09/2022 08:06

Beware of Habitat telling you that they have no liability because a) you didn't turn the mattress every 2 weeks and b) you weight over about 12 stone so what do you expect.

A friend had the same problem with a sofa, the bottom fell through after less than a year. She was a largish lass, about 14 stone, and the sofa company tried the excuse that her weight wasn't "normal wear and tear". Unfortunately for them, she worked for a law company.....

In the case of a mattress, they should be up to 2 people having wild rampant sex on a regular basis, not just a middle aged lady cuddling her cat!😂

LostCats · 15/09/2022 10:23

Argh!!
6.45am cat fight. Boone arrived home covered in missing patches of fur and has a large scratch on his neck which is still bleeding a tiny bit. We’ve put a compress on it for 5 mins so much better now. Vet at 2pm for heaven knows how much that’s going to cost.
And will have to get a cat flap.
Thank god it’s payday. But I’d managed to do a tiny tiny bit of secret squirrel saving. And that’s all going to the vet now 😔
But I love him so much I would sell a kidney for him.

Fluffycloudland77 · 15/09/2022 10:33

Oh dear, who was the other cat?

LostCats · 15/09/2022 11:13

We’re not sure. It’s the second time it’s happened to his neck. Poor guy. He’s feeling so sorry for himself but he’s getting a lot of love and allowed far more liberties than normal till he goes to the dr

YesItsMeIDontCare · 15/09/2022 17:59

Poor Boone! How is he now Lost?

PollyCreo · 15/09/2022 18:42

These two are in so much trouble today 🙀They got left alone for two hours - managed to lock themselves in my bedroom and completely destroyed the full-length voiles. All ripped and hanging off the rail 😲 And somehow it was my fault, I got a verbal bollocking when I got home 🙄

Fluffycloudland77 · 15/09/2022 18:57

Voiles very 2001 though isn’t it? Their just saving you from poor interior design choices. Shutters are the way ahead.

You got off lightly, the Bengal pissed through the banisters wrecking 5 stair treads carpets and we had to put laminate down on the stairs. Cost a fortune.

JoanOgden · 15/09/2022 19:03

What darling cats! I can't believe they could ever do anything so destructive. Surely a Mystery Intruder must be to blame.

PollyCreo · 15/09/2022 19:24

Yes @Fluffycloudland77 I am hanging my head and voiles in shame. Never had the pleasure of a Bengal but pleased to hear you sorted out your poor decor choices too 😅

@JoanOgden I really must secure my top floor better to prevent intruders 😥

LostCats · 15/09/2022 19:32

Ah thank you for asking. Was a cheap vet visit! Cleaning and antibiotics again. Thankfully we saw early so it hasn’t got yukky yet. Poor guy though. He’s very very sorry for himself and sad. Lots of lovely cuddles tonight and thankfully it’s getting cold anyway now so no summer fun will be missed.

Supersimkin2 · 15/09/2022 20:55

Poor little Boone- glad he better.

There was a burglar hiding in those voiles @PollyCreo . Definitely.

Fluffycloudland77 · 15/09/2022 21:25

We shall be guided by our cats @PollyCreo superior taste.

LostCats · 16/09/2022 08:39

So. After some chats with DH over tea we have realised that Boone (may be) the instigator of the fights! He is not a lover of other cats including poor Eko who just wants to be best friends forever.
We had a white cat who visited our garden but no longer does after we found a rather large amount of white fur at the bottom of the garden.
We’re now wondering if Boone is extending his territory to the neighbour’s garden and the poor white cat is being ‘sorted out’ and then retaliating in the neighbours garden.
Which does then somewhat diminish the pity I have for Boone 😁

Supersimkin2 · 16/09/2022 09:52

Prince and Havelock are BFF but they bicker a bit. Prince ‘playfully’ nipped Havelock’s plumy tail - Havelock yowled at him ‘with a zesty spirit’.

But when it’s time to pull out the big guns - a nutritional opportunity - they gang up
on me like Churchill and Roosevelt and strategise seamlessly to conquer crucial Pouch Pipeline personnel and occupy Kitchen.

LostCats · 16/09/2022 10:58

‘conquer crucial Pouch Pipeline personnel’
😂

Fluffycloudland77 · 16/09/2022 12:26

I don’t think we should convict poor Boone without hard evidence.

LostCats · 16/09/2022 18:58

True 😁

PeloFondo · 16/09/2022 22:36

Sat picking grass seeds off Ollie who is very happy with this situation Hmm
I'm sure he's doing it on purpose

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 16/09/2022 23:07

I had to look up voiles, I had a mental image of voles hanging by their tails from the curtain rail (more to our cats' taste I suspect).
Sybil is in cat heaven tonight. Fish suppers meant she could play in the fish scented bag, and then have some chip shop fish. She lives for these occasions.

Allergictoironing · 17/09/2022 08:24

The lovely Sybil looks rather kittenish in that picture!
