The lady who has seen him has just messaged again. The cat has a ring around the end of its tail. I'm 99% sure it's him! Next stage is proper identification then working out how to get him back. But I'm so happy that he seems to be ok.

I’m a nervous wreck, Coaster, so can’t imagine how you are. When you get him back we will all be rejoicing for both of you.

Maybe just the sound of your voice. Long story but a cat turned up in my garden, after a lot of detective work, matched the description of a lost cat from 3 weeks before from a village 6 miles away, so wasn't sure if it really was the one. Anyway, the lady turned up and as soon as she started speaking the cat ran up the garden and leapt into her arms. Cue tears of joy all round.
Turns out she (the cat) had got into a workman's van and had the sense to find a cat owner/lover

Hopefully that cured her of any more adventures in vans.

We have gardened supervised by next doors tortie. She comes racing over when she sees me and purrs really loudly. Dh is well jel 😂. She looks at you really lovingly. Which is very forgiving of her considering Asbo made her nocturnal for 7 years.

Capn V's had stuffing-topped chicken breast, works a treat, he says. it really smells when you open the packet.

It's him. 100%. Now to work on getting him back. I can't believe it. I was convinced he had died thinking I had abandoned him. So so so happy I cried when I saw the latest photos. Crying again.

With no feline overlord of my own I met two cats today, it seems a long time since I've seen one, except on here.

Well that’s a relief, does he have a set time he visits them?, he looks in very good condition.

Capn V has taken to screaming if I leave it more than 3 hours between huge meals. He's truly settling - the tiniest glint of command is appearing in his beautiful golden eye. Awful fat. Purrs tho'.

Don't have a subscription so can't read the full article supersimkin2 but I am absolutely flabbergasted and in full outrage mode when we know just what a devastating effect French hunters have had on birds.
