Charlie is gorgeous :).

However, in the latter pic. its the ears that look a little suspect :)

Justonedayatatime11 · 12/07/2020 14:29

Poor Charlie! What's wrong with his ears?!

YetAnotherSpartacus · 12/07/2020 14:31

Charlie is adorable. However, I doubt you have many secrets from him, not if you talk about them anyway :).

coastergirl · 12/07/2020 14:46

This pair of hooligans have fleas 😡 My fault. I've fallen behind with the monthly treatment. I had one left for Bertie so I've done that, and ordered more online for both of them. Thank goodness the new house has hardly any carpet, it should be relatively easy to sort out. I hate fleas!

Jyst, have you seen the thread in chat called omg snake in garden? The Op was berated for understandably not wanting to pick up and save her new slithery tenant from dying of cold.

Fluffycloudland77 · 12/07/2020 18:32

Only on mumsnet 🙄. Like the cool wives on the relationship board who think it’s fine for dh to go to lap dancing clubs and snort a gram of coke.

Allergictoironing · 12/07/2020 19:17

Just you live in/on the Fens don't you? Almost guaranteed to be a grass snake then, as they love swimming. They aren't venomous, and I would have thought you'd like the idea of a playmate for Charlie Wink, or at least some prey to keep him occupied!

Adders are a different matter (only native venomous snake in the UK), but they tend to prefer sandy heathlands over anything else.

QueenCT · 12/07/2020 23:36

I'm not sure who would cry more if we saw a snake, me or ollie Grin
An earwig ran over his paw today and he just lifted his paw up and stared at it

Supersimkin2 · 13/07/2020 09:33

I had rentokil in to deal with a caterpillar in a cabbage once.

Respect @Justonedayatatime11.

How dare the snake hiss at you Just? It should have been grateful it was you and not the floofy snakefinding one who saw it.

I went to read the snake thread. The snake was also described as 'overweight' and 'chubby' even though there didn't seem to be any definite information on the scale of the photo or its breed. However, there weren't any posts telling the OP to feed it healthy snacks only when I looked Wink

Papergirl1968 · 13/07/2020 11:15

Snake thread has been so funny. The woman who collected it described it as on the obese side. Who knew that even snakes had weight issues?

QueenCT · 13/07/2020 12:10

Ollie is acting odd Sad
He ran in from the garden, kept looking behind him really scared. Won't come out from under the bed
No blood but flinching every time a dog goes past and he's covered in loose hair. Refusing cuddles Sad

Fluffycloudland77 · 13/07/2020 12:38

Sounds like he’s had a close shave.

QueenCT · 13/07/2020 12:43

He's back under the bed. Won't come near me

Supersimkin2 · 13/07/2020 13:25

Some foul hound has menaced him. Angry

Cats shed hair with stress, and act up - Matt is doing the same, having had his home invaded by The Enemy. They hate it. Very bad for their mental health re territory.

Queen, maybe just Be Around Acting Normally for a while. Show Ollie there are no dogs, maybe keep him in for a couple of days to reassure him Home is Safe.

Horrible Dog Stress - who needs it.

QueenCT · 13/07/2020 13:31

He's emerged to check outside

Poor baby. Looks like something has really frightening him. 😿

YetAnotherSpartacus · 13/07/2020 14:50

Keep him inside and keep an eye out for dogs that might be stray or poorly handled. Poor Ollie!

Justonedayatatime11 · 13/07/2020 15:09

13 cats is the same as 12 really isn't it? Asking for a friend.... Grin

Papergirl1968 · 13/07/2020 15:30

I shouldn’t think it’s much different to be honest, Just.
Tell us more about your “friend.” Grin

Fluffycloudland77 · 13/07/2020 15:49

It’s definitely one more cat 🤨 than your friend has now.

Justonedayatatime11 · 13/07/2020 16:03

Grin there is method behind my madness. None of my other cats will play with Charlie (and he does want to just play) as they're slightly scared of him. So we're going to trial another f2 and see if having someone a similar size to him helps. Either that or she'll batter him into submission and teach him some manners!
