Is that a packet of fags by him? Has he taken up smoking, Lana? Grin

TheLongRider · 06/05/2020 22:21

I'm doing a charity cycle as a fundraiser for my local SPCA in Dublin with DD. She'll be 11 in 10 days time so we decided to do 111km in 11 days before her 11th birthday.

It gets her out for some exercise, and some money for a good cause. She can't have a birthday party with her mates under the present circumstances. We're allowed out within a 5km radius of our homes so we can get a fair bit done. Two of our current four felines are adoptees from the SPCA, the ungrateful buggers! We've set up a GoFundMe page and we're doing ok for donations.

Oh Long, they are your loveliest supporters. They must be so proud of DD.

Good luck - 111 km is amazeballs.

Capn V has patted the fags twice. Can't see him as a furry Lance Armstrong at this rate.

Ollie is taking the stay home message seriously

I think posts get deleted if you put a link on a post but happy to sponsor if you send me a PM. I see ammonite cat is still in the black cat’s basket Grin

TheLongRider · 06/05/2020 22:55

You can always do a search on GoFundMe. I'm reluctant to put links in posts too.

The money won't be resting in my account either!

Ollie's toe beans are beautiful.

I always said I'd take up smoking when I was 50. Why try everything when your young, leave something to look forward to when you're older.

I've got the funniest mental image of Cap'n V smoking. Is he asleep with his mouth open there?

The trap will stay out for a while. No sign yet.

Does anyone else have a cat with a permanently wet nose? Walter's is.

Supersimkin2 · 07/05/2020 10:17

he is Coaster, very snory. A good sleep involves us both dribbling and on waking blaming the other one.

Papergirl1968 · 07/05/2020 10:58

A cold wet nose is supposed to be healthy, isn’t it?

coastergirl · 07/05/2020 11:54

I thought that was just dogs. Bertie has never had a wet nose.

YesItsMeIDontCare · 07/05/2020 12:43

When do you notice it coaster? Is it at cuddle time? Leroy always has a wet nose at cuddle time - something to do with kittenhood and dribbling I think.

OLLIE BELLY!!!!!

ClientQ · 07/05/2020 15:44

He's been out, socialised, pranced around the garden and even been fussed by the neighbours. Obviously now he's retired back to bed Grin

nettie434 · 07/05/2020 21:25

Dear Ollie, you look magnificent!

coastergirl · 08/05/2020 10:57

The wet nose is just all the time. He comes up to us a lot and always touches his nose to our hands so it's really noticeable.

Papergirl1968 · 08/05/2020 11:42

Coaster, have you seen the litter tray thread called Haribo is Missing? Some good advice on there about finding lost cats and a happy ending.
Really hoping Bertie is found this weekend x

coastergirl · 08/05/2020 12:11

I've just been and read it, thank you. So glad he's home. I've been doing all those things, problem is that he doesn't know where to find us now as we moved.

Defiantly41 · 08/05/2020 12:26

@coastergirl Thanks
Am I right in thinking that you haven't moved too far away? Would your old neighbours be ok with you bringing a deckchair and doing an overnight vigil in their garden? Or a very early morning visit, with dreamies/something smelly from home? We found our girl after nearly 2 weeks trapped in a garage by walking around the neighbourhood very very early in the morning talking softly - she summoned up the strength to miaow so we found her.

And keep going with the trap, you may get lucky. Strength to you both

Supersimkin2 · 10/05/2020 09:03

In a dispatch from the inner city I never thought I'd make, we've got a falcon. Huge, black, female, casts a shadow over everything. Capn V watched it all night and is knackered.

Supersimkin2 · 10/05/2020 09:09

Rather tactlessly under current circs, she's taken up residence on top of the new luxury homes for the elderly next door. No pigeons, no dawn chorus, even our rat has stomped off.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 10/05/2020 09:11

Exactly how big and heavy is Capt'n V?

Fluffycloudland77 · 10/05/2020 09:40

We’ve got buzzards over us, the other birds hate them. Two years ago a sparrow hawk killed the female blackbird on our lawn. Scared the life out of Asbo.

Have you seen her hunting?.
