I know, Spartacus. Sad
Trouble is dd is nearly 19 but is developmentally much younger, impulsive, awful temper, lots of issues. She’s not supposed to have any contact with me as part of her bail conditions so she sofa surfs but there are times when she has literally nowhere to go.
Tomorrow is the final court hearing re her baby, and the recommendation is that she be adopted and although I agree that’s the best thing for her, it’s going to be a tough day for all of us.
Meanwhile dd2 is kicking off in her care home. Police have been out twice and I’ll be amazed if they don’t end up arresting her.
And on top of that my mom’s dementia is getting worse,
Sorry, this is a real pity party. As Ollie would say, ma life SUCKS!

YetAnotherSpartacus · 05/07/2020 14:29

No words Flowers

Supersimkin2 · 05/07/2020 15:49

The dog has to go.

That's one positive move you can make. Yes, it is positive.

My heart bleeds for you, love.

And I agree with @YetAnotherSpartacus. DD is treating the stray animals as she was treated herself when she was a stray human - badly. Don't be bamboozled into being the enabler who allows that.

You really, really aren't that person @Papergirl1968.

Massive hug, we are all with you in spirit. Hope Matt feeling better today.

Fluffycloudland77 · 05/07/2020 18:03

I hope you’ve got plenty of support from ss. It’s ridiculous how much damage can be done to young people by the parents & they just fuck off into the sunset like it’s nothing to do with them.

Papergirl1968 · 05/07/2020 18:59

Matt seems fine although he still has bloody and matted fur. Worried about Socks though. I heard her this morning in the garden at the back but no sign or sound of her since. It’s possible she’s sneaked in the garage or under the decking, which another favourite hidey hole. But I’m worried as she’s hardly eaten these last couple of days. Just a few bites of chicken I threw to her in the garden.
Still no sign of dd1 although she’s supposed to bringing the dog’s tablets. She didn’t have a social worker after she turned 18. If she gets temporary accommodation she should get support, but based on past experience she won’t really engage.
Dd2’s SW is pretty good. No complaints there or with her care home.
The baby’s SW is not much use but we don’t really have much to do with him.
And we have a post adoption support SW who is ok.
Dd2 also goes to Camhs who I think would be good if only she’d engage but most of the time she doesn’t.
I think I’m feeling so overwhelmed because I’m tired from being up half the night looking for Socks, poor baby.

 @Papergirl1968 WineThanksCake

Supersimkin2 · 05/07/2020 19:56

Of course you are, you must be crawling the floor with exhaustion. Why not pajamas and cuppa now. The cats will not let you pass out without feeding them, don't you worry :) Sofa, carbs, telly, don't move.

we are with you in furry support. Every decision you have been forced to make has been a royal bastard @Papergirl1968 recently, and being skint and shattered never helps.

I can imagine the thought of another SW makes you wonder what you did in a previous life, but I got one for my parents and they are flipping brilliant. Dementia is not best tackled by the family.

Look, love: none of these problems are a) fixable by you b) your job to fix. Imagine a massive striped ginger furry arm round you with a tufty paw brandishing carbs - that's me and Cap'n coming atcha.

Fluffycloudland77 · 05/07/2020 19:57

Tbh after meeting some sw & mh nurses I can see 100% why people don’t engage with them.

Supersimkin2 · 05/07/2020 20:30

When I went to NHS anti-smoking classes, which were in a room at the local psych hospital, the MH Nurse who ran it yelled 'If you're not nuts by the time you arrive in here you will be when you leave'.

it's the quiet, capable air of reassurance, isn't it. Anyone seen my lighter?

swampytiggaa · 05/07/2020 20:34

@Papergirl1968 I’m so sorry for everything you are going through 💕 you sound so lovely 💕

coastergirl · 05/07/2020 21:28

Ah paper, I'm so sorry for everything you're going through. It sounds so hard. I haven't forgotten your support when Bertie was missing. Is there anything I can help with?

Have a photo of the sight that greeted me when I arrived home earlier.

Papergirl1968 · 05/07/2020 21:53

Thank you, you lovely lot, for the support. Furry orange arms bearing carbs, and the wine, flowers and choc are all much appreciated.
Good news! I just found Socks in the garden and was able to grab her with the help of Tesco finest cooked beef.
She’s in the garage now, but I’m just relieved she’s home and dry and safe. And she’s grounded now, at least for a few days. Matt is in too so when dd returns in a few min we can go to bed.
That is a heartwarming photo, Coaster. I bet those frantic weeks seem like a nightmare now.

Supersimkin2 · 05/07/2020 22:18

Sleep well sweetly @Papergirl1968. Well done on Socks. Capn jealous.

Oh coaster, look at that, blub. Together at last. What an amazing job you did.

TheLongRider · 05/07/2020 22:25

Papergirl1968 - I'm so sorry for everything you're going through. It's so hard to find the strength to keep going. I'm glad Socks is home.

nettie434 · 06/07/2020 00:03

So sorry that this is such a difficult time for you papergirl1968. Glad Socks is home Flowers

swampytiggaa · 06/07/2020 07:14

Ollie is doing a stern face for Socks and says stay HOME

Captain V and Paws, rulers of the world
Supersimkin2 · 06/07/2020 08:52

Who could resist those orders from such compelling commanders eh @Papergirl1968?

My God, Wednesday has a lovely face. Ollie's looking rather dapper this morning too. He's turned up to WFH looking smart and 15 min early. Get him, career cat.

QueenCT · 06/07/2020 08:56

I started at 8. Ollie unimpressed Grin

Fluffycloudland77 · 06/07/2020 10:43

Look at bilispeaks on Instagram. I can’t decide if it’s a good idea or not.

Papergirl1968 · 06/07/2020 10:45

Loving Wednesday and Ollie’s faces!
I slept like the dead, helped by Socks who emerged from the garage and crept into bed with me.
Now steeling myself for the court hearing re granddaughter this afternoon.
Matt’s neck is still angry looking but he is eating fine and not scratching it. I guess I’d just expected it to be virtually gone by now instead of still red and angry looking. I’m still getting the antibiotics and painkillers into him somehow, usually mixed up in cake and Dreamies!

swampytiggaa · 06/07/2020 10:48

Good luck for today @Papergirl1968 💕 stay strong 💕 we’re all with you in spirit 💕

BTW does anyone else think that Wednesday looks like Bagpuss? She’s all floppy like a toy cat too...

nettie434 · 06/07/2020 11:14

Wishing you strength for this afternoon papergirl1968 and continued recovery/staying safe for Matt and Socks.

I think Swampy's cats are an incredibly photogenic trio. How does Ollie have so many different expressions?

Supersimkin2 · 06/07/2020 15:09

Little Matt, the very picture of stoic bravery and support!

Supersimkin2 · 06/07/2020 15:23

My neighbour is having kitten trouble.
