Work out WHY he's calling - then at least. Wink

Ollivander84 · 17/08/2018 22:48

I tried the talking but he just kept on - he will go into the living room and howl to himself there. Not sure why, I suspect some of it is wanting to go outside

OP posts:
cozietoesie · 17/08/2018 22:50

And yet he says nowt when he wants back in? (He clearly trusts you.)

cozietoesie · 17/08/2018 23:06

When is he let out?

Ollivander84 · 17/08/2018 23:12

Nothing. Just sits there blinking at the door in the pouring rain ConfusedConfused

He can go out from when I'm up (6am) and then is back in when I'm at work. Out again from 5pm until it's dark. I'm only suspecting that as I've found him about midnight on the windowsill howling and patting the window

OP posts:
cozietoesie · 17/08/2018 23:15

Do you use words to him to indicate intention like 'Outside' and 'In/Sleep'?

Ollivander84 · 17/08/2018 23:20

Not so much out as he can hop in and out the window as he wants but I always use bedtime and sing him a lullaby no I am not joking say "mama going to bed now, night bubba"
The door is used when he doesn't fancy pretends he can't jump in the window. But he will happily sit there with the rain bouncing waiting for me to open the door

OP posts:
cozietoesie · 17/08/2018 23:30

Start using single, memorable words - and look him in the eye while you do. (Very important.)

Also. You need to talk to him more - outdo him if you can.

Ollivander84 · 17/08/2018 23:35

I honestly never stop talking to him Grin
Will give the words a go. He's quiet tonight, sat with his paw on my face

OP posts:
cozietoesie · 18/08/2018 00:00

Good luck.

Ollivander84 · 18/08/2018 00:13

He says I am over exaggerating and he's just chatting

You need to get him under the paw. (Which is where I think you are, right now. Wink)

Ollivander84 · 18/08/2018 00:16

I would definitely prefer it if he stopped watching himself cry in the mirror like some kind of weird emo cat Hmm

So basically MrC had a lovely relaxed night and you were exhausted the next day then?.

Asbo has never quietened down shut the fuck up, he's moaning now because we've stopped him going round next door to beat the ginger cat up. He was on our doorstop though which is inflammatory behaviour.

Ollivander84 · 18/08/2018 13:34

I am kittening

You won't be laffing at Asbo's leadership of Neighbourhood Watch when he gets an OBE.

Yes. I am still knackered.

hehheh look at the little kittens tho

Fluffycloudland77 · 18/08/2018 19:29

It takes so much longer to get over late nights as you age. I was in bed last night at 8:30.

There has been a fight. Wounds have been bathed. If next door spent less on shite clothes from next and more on catteries this wouldn't happen. It's lazy ownership. Poor asbo is limping.

cozietoesie · 18/08/2018 19:34

Poor lad. How is his......opponent? (If you know.)

Fluffycloudland77 · 18/08/2018 19:40

I don't know. I think their ndn are cat sitting but will they know the signs of a poorly cat?

cozietoesie · 18/08/2018 19:45

Not if it's sleeping it off somewhere - and if even ASBO's limping, that's not impossible.

Ollivander84 · 18/08/2018 20:03

Poor ASBO Sad

I took this little video today, managed to get a miaow on it too https://instagram.com/p/BmnsczknPVI/

Oh no, poor ASBO. Hope there's no need for surgical intervention. Not this again so soon, surely. Can you eat?!

Darling beautiful Ginge has the mew of a tiny baby angel. Quite a forthright angel Grin

I took my ancient DPs to a LGT-and-one-more-letter-probably concert in the park and Dad was flirted at by a drag queen. After the set ended he insisted we wait and chased her, aged over 80 with stick and hat, to give her a kiss and offer his compliments. She loved it (thank Christ).

Ollivander84 · 18/08/2018 20:40

Just heard Ollie howling. Went outside. A random not my cat in his bush Shock
Not my cat then trotted over to Ollie and head hopped his face Shock

LanaorAna2 · 18/08/2018 20:40

That is love and friendship!

Papergirl1968 · 18/08/2018 20:41

Ginge is cute!
Going back to Ollie’s bedtime routine, I thought I was the only one daft enough to sing the cat a lullaby.
Ours goes something like:
Time for cats to go to bed,
Beddy time for boys,
Time to shut your weary eyes,
Time for beddy byes.
