Sort of. We met him when first visiting a breeder (from whom we’ll be getting two darling balls of fluff mid-July) and just loved him. Joked that DH had decided he’d quite like him next time we saw her, she said ‘Well... it depends on whether you want a 9 y.o. cat!’.

We know he gets lots of hair balls and vomits a lot (which I hope might be reduced with very frequent brushing) but he’s a healthy lad and always has been. We’ve also been informed that we must keep all bobbles, cotton buds, plastic bags, etc. away from him as he is obsessed and WILL eat them. So that’ll be fun.

He looks wonderful. Smile Have you named him yet?

When Seniorboy came to live with me, he was about 14. ( He made it to over 22.) 9 is just a teenager to me. Grin He started being sick but that was mainly his mouth. ('Orrible dentition - the main thing you'll have to check, I reckon.) In his later years, he was groomed nearly every night and wasn't sick at all. Smile

cozietoesie · 24/04/2018 01:25

PS - he was a short-haired boy with a fairly thin coat but I still took a prodigious amount of hair from him - just by grooming.

InTheGhetto · 24/04/2018 01:29

We’ll be keeping his name, which is Ghetto. No prizes for guessing his full name minus breeder name! Indeed, my main focus points will be teeth and kidneys I think. Can’t remember if the breeder mentioned how he drinks - I think she said he likes to splash the drinking water about, but don’t think she mentioned consumption of it. Grin I’ve ordered some cat milk treats in case it helps get liquid in him, and he’s used to having wet food twice a day along with free access to dry food.

Weezol · 24/04/2018 01:32

He looks incredible. And is already clearly in charge of an hooman.

InTheGhetto · 24/04/2018 01:37

You can see why we fell in love! He did that to DH within about three minutes of us getting in the door on the first visit. And when leaving, DH knew it would be a bit rude to hang around and lift him up again, so he did nothing but stand there, which prompted Ghetto to crawl up his jeans and T-shirt and onto his shoulder regardless. He purrs like a maniac as soon as he’s up there. SUCH a great character.

Weezol · 24/04/2018 01:44

I was pretty sure it would be DH, they know a pushover cat person when they see one.

cozietoesie · 24/04/2018 01:54

I think you were right the first time, Weezol. Grin

He is just gorgeous.

Weezol · 24/04/2018 02:02

His face is so expressive, especially in the rh photo. And that face says 'MINE!'.

InTheGhetto · 24/04/2018 02:18

Haha. 'You can see I'm busy here. Did you want something?'

Grin

Can't waaaait! DH is terribly afraid that I'll work my cat lady magic and Ghetto will love me more than him.

cozietoesie · 24/04/2018 02:29

Ah that's easily handled. Wink

Weezol Grin Grin Grin Thanks so much C I am leaving now, giggling; Mr C fed senseless in case I get held up.

LanaorAna2 · 24/04/2018 11:26

Ghetto - sweetheart, you are a beauty, such character in the eyes. Congrats!!!!! When I got Mr C he was an older cat, a decade on and he is still kitteny ie naughty. Ghetto Guardians - Welcome to the first day of the rest of your lives!!!

InTheGhetto · 24/04/2018 11:56

Guiltypleasures001 - What a cutie. I've such a soft spot for torties, my first cat that was specifically mine was one, and she was wonderful. She would follow me partway to school and then materialise, meowing, from one of the gardens at the end of my road when I was on my way home, and walk with me.

Lana - Thanks! Grin

LanaorAna2 · 24/04/2018 14:00

Our cat got expelled from nursery when me and Dbro were there, she sat outside the window screaming and frightening the other children. DM had to come and get her and a telling off.

I am at home having had another op without any anesthetic because the wound was too deep. Don't ask me how that works, but I always say yes otherwise they put you under a general. Lying down for 2 days tho', I will be better later. I bit on a magazine.

Ollivander84 · 24/04/2018 14:26

O would like a new human please. His existing one keeps feeding him "healthy DISCUSTING FUD" like steam cooked free range chicken. He thinks he should get "pork scratching SWEETIES" instead Hmm

YetAnotherSpartacus · 24/04/2018 14:28

I'll be your new human Ollie! thought you'd never ask

Ollivander84 · 24/04/2018 14:43

He says YES please (he's howling at his food in disgust) Confused

cozietoesie · 24/04/2018 14:51

The fruit has arrived. PB is 'sort of ' interested. (Which translates to 'wild enthusiasm' for a cat without his ishoos.) Grin

Ollivander84 · 24/04/2018 14:58

Has he had a sniff and peruse of them?

OP posts:
cozietoesie · 24/04/2018 15:04

He pulled a banana into LWT2! (And then ignored it - 'ishoos')

cozietoesie · 24/04/2018 15:34

He seemed to be very interested in his toes and claws afterwards. Grin

I think that there's room for a learned treatise here. Wink

cozietoesie · 24/04/2018 18:06

The banana has been pulled back inside LWT2. Wink

LanaorAna2 · 24/04/2018 18:39

It's not coming out until it's been sliced is it :) Mr C's banana will have to wait until tomorrow, I can't face the amazon man not being able to find London until then.
