I have the heating turned off, it being May and all. Maybe that's the reason for the mouthing off. Wink

Allergictoironing · 11/05/2018 21:06

I used to be a Civil Servant decades ago. They had this rule by the estate maintenance department that heating went ON in October, and OFF at Easter. Didn't matter if it was snowing at Easter or a heatwave in October (or vice versa), that's when the heating went on and off. Oh, apart from the year they ran out of fuel oil in mid-January!

I actually put mine on again for a few hours during the cold snap about a week ago, it had been off since not long after the late snow.

cozietoesie · 11/05/2018 21:14

I put mine off on 3 May. (I'm feeling real guilt about the 1st and 2nd. Blush) PB has become quite dark now. You wouldn't call him a chocolate point any more - he's all seal. Grin

cozietoesie · 11/05/2018 21:16

Forbye he's got 'old-fashioned' colouring. Smile

LanaorAna2 · 11/05/2018 21:16

I would send PB a stiff letter about his service charge if he kicks off about the heating - it's the middle of May :) Just had hottest bank hol in recorded history :)

Oh A I love overeating, it's the best in times of trial. Smart move Grin

Talking of which I am 2 stone overweight & begging doc for more thyroid pills, known in London as Middle Class Speed. Really :)

cozietoesie · 11/05/2018 21:23

Keeping company with Mr C? Wink

LanaorAna2 · 11/05/2018 21:30

We're both barrels. Lovely and cosy in the bed :)

Allergictoironing · 11/05/2018 22:05

Today's excess included a whole packet of 6 Asda Extra Special pork & caramelised red onion sausages (split over 2 meals so 3 each meal) and crumpets dripping in butter and maple syrup. the crumpets were to compensate for my very recently ex boss calling & asking if I might consider some part time contract work for them!

cozietoesie · 11/05/2018 22:06

I realised what the mouthing off is for. He HATES CHANGE. Really hates it. Yesterday, I binned some old slippers - he thoroughly disliked them but now he's giving me 'What For' for their absence. Grin

cozietoesie · 11/05/2018 22:07

Tough, eh? Grin

You need a flexible mind to survive in this house.

cozietoesie · 11/05/2018 22:10

Say 'YES' Allergic.. (Well - 'Perhaps' - but with overtones of assent.) You can make a blithering fortune from contract payments. Grin

Ollivander84 · 11/05/2018 22:20

O is having a cuddle. Brain filled with rainbows/unicorns and "love mama" as usual Grin

3 sausages isn't overeating. Amateur Grin . Well, not if you had veg with it. If they were in a sandwich with chips, I might reconsider my view.

Good news re work - say in principle it sounds ok if the numbers are right - ie the ££. Well done.

Allergictoironing · 11/05/2018 22:27

Oh I did give a (provisional) yes. But I doubt they would pay me terribly well, especially as I know what it would be they would want me to do. Ideally they would give my 15 hours a week, then I could still claim ESA, but I don't think that would be enough to survive on TBH.

Allergictoironing · 11/05/2018 22:30

Veg? What is this "veg" you refer to? Oh you mean the stuff that gives me IBS & sends me to the loo for 3 hours Grin. Just sausages, straight from the oven, on their own.

I did have some peace slices though, as a nod to the 5 a day. Not on the crumpets before you die from horror, spooned straight from the pot about 15 mins ago.

cozietoesie · 11/05/2018 22:46

DBro always has 5 grapes when he's here. He won't be persuaded that that may not be what was meant by '5 a day'. Grin

cozietoesie · 12/05/2018 01:48

I'm sorry, Lana, but his deep and abiding love (for hurting and killing) seems to be reserved for Mousie. Now entirely disreputable, minus tail and feathers but..........what can I say? He loves to beat up on it. Grin

cozietoesie · 12/05/2018 01:53

Firstcat was the same now I think on't. He had 'Biffer' which was a strange thing made of French knitting - with a tail - which we used to hang on apparently inaccessible places. (There are very few places that are inaccessible to a determined Siamese.)

LanaorAna2 · 12/05/2018 08:24

I'd better send up a fresh generation of victims. Give me a few days to get the felt in.

5 Grapes Grin Grin Grin That is my new Motivational Life Motto.

Well done Allergic re the fruit. Those crumpets sound nice. AFAIK there are different rates of ESA, it might not be as bad as you think.

Allergictoironing · 12/05/2018 09:00

My back isn't quite bad enough to be considered a disability so no PIP, ESA or anything related to that, it's just the MH issues. Last time it was the standard £73 pw.

But ojn the good news front, I HAVE been referred for the spinal injections by the pain clinic. Will be about 10 weeks though (which means nearer 15 if I know my local hospital).

Cats are being mega understanding really. I'm staying up late which means getting up late, but they don't come to pester me in the morning until they hear me moving about, and then they just decide my bedroom is the only place they can chase each other about rather than sitting looking pathetically at me.

Ollivander84 · 12/05/2018 09:24

Allergic - hope it goes well! I'm still waiting for my first appointment at the pain clinic, the neurosurgeon referred me. It's been exactly one year since my spinal surgery Shock

OP posts:
Allergictoironing · 12/05/2018 09:34

You may need to get someone to chase that up! A year is waaay beyond NHS KPIs for appointments I think, and there was an incident in my past where I chased & they'd sort of "mislaid" the referral Angry

Ollivander84 · 12/05/2018 09:36

I phrased that wrong! I've only been waiting for the referral a little bit, but I had spinal surgery 12 months ago which is why I have the pain

Ollivander84 · 12/05/2018 09:59

Paws has just jumped in the window, done a strange face of "ooooooo. Hi human" and jumped back out Confused
