Very good for cleaning diamonds, apparently. Wink

Weedsnseeds1 · 29/04/2018 23:11

Drunk for a penny, dead drunk for tuppence and clean straw for free. Happy days, sigh...
Round here I suspect they were all slaughtered on home made scrumpy. We haven't really moved on Smile

Ollivander84 · 29/04/2018 23:15

I'm home from work. O is having a light snack before bed

Just read up on the 1736 Gin Act. Illegal sales apart, you weren't supposed to buy it in quantities of less than 2 gallons, which to me is positively encouraging people to club together with their mates for a group discount!

cozietoesie · 29/04/2018 23:29

....less than 2 gallons??? Shock

Weedsnseeds1 · 29/04/2018 23:33

Yes, 2 gallon minimum purchaseGrin

LanaorAna2 · 29/04/2018 23:39

It's all artificial high Spice round here, well, at the tube. It ain't pretty - skeletal youths jerk and flail about retching babble.

They can't walk properly, you get the full-on Ministry of Silly Walks when they come at you asking for money, and then they lurch at you shouting C**T 500 times when you say no & speed up. New breed of nightmare.

cozietoesie · 29/04/2018 23:42

Goodness Weeds.. MNHQ need to be informed. (It will put their gin cupboard in perspective.) Grin

Ollivander84 · 29/04/2018 23:48

I'm on a new gin, Caorunn. V nice it is

It was repealed in 1743, so you can buy as much or as little as you like now.
Wasn't a popular measure, apparently.

Weedsnseeds1 · 29/04/2018 23:51

Not a gin fan myself, but have a gallon of bullace vodka steeping in the kitchen as I found a bag lurking in the freezer.

cozietoesie · 30/04/2018 00:41

A gallon of vodka?? (I'm way outclassed. Grin)

LanaorAna2 · 30/04/2018 08:02

It's four degrees, wind and rain lashing at the window. Self and pet are still in bed, Mr C thoughtfully washing his tail and watching the commuters having their umbrellas ripped away by gales.

Nothing as lovely as spring in London. A good day for a go on the banana and a light nap.

Allergictoironing · 30/04/2018 08:05

How to spoil my morning. Firstly all the comments about drink - painkillers mean I can't drink more than maybe one Sad. Then Lana rubbing it in about work - going back (gingerly) today, though running a bit late. Thank goodness for Boycat wanting extra long snuggly cuddles in bed, sets me up for the day that does Smile

Weedsnseeds1 · 30/04/2018 08:46

There were a lot of bullaces, I needed the right proportion of vodka!
Cold and windy here and heading to the moors later for work, which won't be any better.

LanaorAna2 · 30/04/2018 13:53

Oh Allergic! I usually only have one drink anyway, if that helps. I hope your day is all right, don't overdo it and let's hope it's better than expected with Boycat waiting to welcome you home.

Mr C been sick on clean floor. He's all right, appetite fine and everything (Grin) .

cozietoesie · 30/04/2018 22:26

PB has found a moth and is after it. Smile

LanaorAna2 · 30/04/2018 22:48

He has the soul of a hunter, that's the second time in a week. RIP Mr Moth.

I've just bought a family-sized bar of fruit and nut for my own consumption for the first time in about 20 years (no Twirls left). I am disgusted.

Remember when the big bars were quite hard to break? This is so thin it's almost see-through and the nuts are just grit, ie no nice big almonds poking out let alone a big chewy raisin.

I had great hopes of the sugar tax, all the delicious-sounding products campaigners described set my mouth watering. How anyone could get obese on this beats me.

So horrified I went back for a treat bag of minstrels. Something should be done.

cozietoesie · 30/04/2018 22:53

Just as well that you don't have fond memories of Creme Eggs, Lana. Judging by the utterances of others, they are now 'no longer what they were'. Grin

cozietoesie · 30/04/2018 22:56

PS - he does have the soul of a hunter. Gawd help any real mice that venture upstairs. Grin

LanaorAna2 · 30/04/2018 23:22

How is the banana faring?

I'm proactively tackling My Confectionery Betrayal by eating all of it so it doesn't upset me again tomorrow :) So brave :)

Ollivander84 · 30/04/2018 23:44

Happy O Hmm

He's not keen.

cozietoesie · 30/04/2018 23:58

Sorry. On the banana, I meant.

Ollivander84 · 01/05/2018 10:27

O has briefly ventured into the sun outside and now decided he would rather stay in and cuddle Hmm
