Currently in the middle of making arrangements to meet - he's a breed rescue - and yet to check over the house for 'breakability' issues etc. (He's only young - and it's a good few years since I had a cat that could potentially leap living with me.)

Yikes!!

Did you get much sleep last night Cozie, or too excited about the arrival of New Boy? As well as roasting atop an electric blanket!

TheGirlOnTheLanding · 05/07/2017 18:46

Fabulous news @cozietoesie! I'm sure he'll be settled and ordering you about in no time.

cozietoesie · 05/07/2017 19:00

Slept like a log. Smile (I turned the electric blanket off as well for sleeping. Just in case. Wink)

Yay!!! I've been looking forward to this news too - silly as it's "just" the interweb, but true.
Hope he finds (or maybe has found while you were elsewhere) a tray - was he used to going in one previously?
And once he's less frightened you know we neeeeeed pictures Smile it's the rules!

cozietoesie · 05/07/2017 19:09

I know the rules. Smile (But you're right - at the moment, there's no point in taking a picture.) I've just booked him into the vet's as well, for the end of next week. I have no idea how he'll behave but it will probably cement his opinion of me as something akin to The Creature From Behind The Tomb, or whatever. Grin

Ah but when you bring him home again he will sense something of the familiar. And you will be good cop for bringing him back safelySmileSmileSmile

cozietoesie · 05/07/2017 21:31

I hope so. (Unless he hasn't bonded by then and looks on it as an escape opportunity! Grin)

A Siamese who is put out is something to behold. Wink

Good luck keep us postedSmile

Ollivander84 · 05/07/2017 21:42

I've seen stable cat put out and she's only part Siamese. Terrifying Grin

Lanaorana2 · 05/07/2017 21:53

He might have been a bit frightened the first night, but that's only because he's so bright. Poor little kitty.

Soon his intelligence will triumph as he realises he has landed on his paws. He should sleep well again tonight, and he'll feel a bit less apprehensive in the morning.

When Mr C was new, I fed him a lot, he loved it.

HemanOrSheRa · 05/07/2017 22:04

Have you tried singing to him? All my children - animal and human - love me singing to them. They really do Grin.

cozietoesie · 05/07/2017 22:09

Lordy, No. That would drive out his last bit of sanity. You may sing a treat but as for me...............Grin

The trouble is, Lana, he won't eat. (All he wants to do is sit.) My DBro (helpfully) reminisced that it took Seniorboy a month to even show his face after my mother died. Then another 2 months when he might occasionally venture out from his mountain fastness etc.......

Siamese can be ............difficult cats.

Lick e Lix on top of food?

cozietoesie · 05/07/2017 22:47

It's a difficult one. I don't want to put all my cards out right now in case he associates them with his 'time of misery'. We'll have to see.........

Sardines? Smelly and often irresistible. Any clues from his former owner what his favourite might be? I bet he ate sometime in the middle of last night, if not then when you are out today he will venture out for an explore, then scuttle back so you think he hasn't moved. With fosters its like a game of statues sometimes, they only move when you aren't looking.

Lanaorana2 · 06/07/2017 09:52

It sounds like time will fix it. Very early days isn't it. Sitting down isn't bad start tho'.

Your Dbro comes from the same Brother Stable as mine - whenever Mr C looks a bit tired, he yells Of Course He's Very Old in significant tones, eyebrows waggling towards the illegal pet graveyard downstairs :)

Good luck with today - have we had urine yet? Er, wherever that might be.

I used to put food out on the hour every hour and then replace it even when it was untouched. It started a lifetime of poor pet discipline but it was appreciated. You are brilliant at being calm so Newboy is off to a flying start - however he chooses to appreciate it.

Lanaorana2 · 06/07/2017 09:55

Herman I serenade Mr C too. Thank God Cozie told me to pack it in wen feelings are running hight, as I was doing a Whitney to him after an op, then had to post as he was so stressed. She made the connection :)

cozietoesie · 06/07/2017 11:46

The middle tray was used pretty copiously last night. SmileSmile

He's disappeared again but that's OK. As long as he peed.

Last time I took Harry to the vet I gave him my best rendition of 'Bat Out of Hell' and he miaowed along loudly! I'm not sure if he was singing along or trying to drown me out!

cozietoesie · 06/07/2017 12:35

I'm sure you're a really, really wonderful singer, Pink. I don't need to respond to that remark. Grin

OP posts:
PinkSparklyPussyCat · 06/07/2017 12:51

DH says I know all the words, it's the tune I struggle with!

cozietoesie · 06/07/2017 13:16

That's .......less than helpful of DH. I'm sure that Harry knows you best, though. Smile

Newboy is being very clever- he stops using a hiding place whenever I discover him in it. I'm just letting him sit and think about life at the moment. That's best I reckon.

I have no idea where he is. Grin

vitaminC · 06/07/2017 13:30

Haven't been online for a couple of days, but this is wonderful news Smile

I hope he settled in quickly and starts enjoying his new life with you. So happy for you (and Newboy)!

chemenger · 06/07/2017 13:30

At least you will be able to see him if you find his hiding spot. My last two fosters have been jet black all over and it is incredibly difficult to find a black cat with its eyes closed in a dark corner.
