Currently in the middle of making arrangements to meet - he's a breed rescue - and yet to check over the house for 'breakability' issues etc. (He's only young - and it's a good few years since I had a cat that could potentially leap living with me.)

Yikes!!

Yay Cozie, I'm so happy for you and Newboy Smile ahh the memories of the first few days of settling in a new cat. Newboy is a very lucky cat

RustyPaperclip · 05/07/2017 00:56

Our latest rescue is a Siamese cross and it's uncanny when he shows off the same little traits and sounds as our old Siamese

cozietoesie · 05/07/2017 01:55

He's now down the bed in the crook of my knee. He didn't go there by himself and he's not completely relaxed but he's not trying to escape from the warm fug that's developing. Oh the power of an electric blanket. Smile

Now I'm sweating on First Use Of Tray. Wink

Why was he re-homed?

Toddlerteaplease · 05/07/2017 06:41

Another one who's bed. Waiting for this post!

EachandEveryone · 05/07/2017 08:49

My god you must be boiling! Did he sleep? Have the owners moved away?

cozietoesie · 05/07/2017 09:20

He was rehomed due to a bad turf war. (Households with two grown Siamese males can go wrong at times.) His former owner was completely devastated,

Unfortunately, he's disappeared overnight and it's a big house for a purposeful cat to hide in. Ho Hum.

Star Star Star StarWelcome Newboy Star Star Star Star Star

We love you already darling kitty!!! You don't know how lucky you are, tiny timid friend of our hearts.

claraschu · 05/07/2017 09:25

Can you explain to him about our need for pictures?

Have you checked your chimney? One of ours once hid up in an old chimney for hours. Perhaps he was inspired by the Tale of Samuel Whiskers.

Hope you find him soon...

Lanaorana2 · 05/07/2017 09:27

Sorry I haven't been on for weeks, all hell broke loose at charity. Plus Mr C has finally smashed keyboard 6 and am reduced to using phone.

Cozie that is the news we have all been craving. What a joy. So so so pleased for you, you can't imagine.

Lanaorana2 · 05/07/2017 09:29

Mr C is now typing on the wreckage of this PC:

jgh

= (trs.) Mknaogh! Welcome Newboy! (oral, trad.)

YesItsMeIDontCare · 05/07/2017 09:31

Oh Cozie I am so happy for you! And for Newboy Smile.

I hope he turns up soon though Shock!

EachandEveryone · 05/07/2017 09:46

Are you keeping or changing his name? I bet he had a ball whilst you were sleeping.

chemenger · 05/07/2017 10:32

How exciting. Three years old is virtually a kitten, my six year old foster is regularly up the curtains and goes insane for the laser pointer. She's been on every shelf and surface in the house. She gets very annoyed that we have the audacity to have things on shelves in her way. Have fun!
We constantly lose fosters when they arrive first, eventually they appear out of whatever hiding place they have found.

cozietoesie · 05/07/2017 15:55

I finally found him. He's petrified poor lad. Sad I'm only concerned that he hasn't peed yet - apart from that, he could hide away for a month if he felt like it.

OP posts:
Ollivander84 · 05/07/2017 16:04

Oh bless him. Time and patience I guess and for him to bond as well

cozietoesie · 05/07/2017 16:08

Both his parents were sealpoints and although he's a chocolate point, he's a dark chocolate point. Probably ferociously intelligent underneath it all - you can practically see the brain whirring away when you look at him.

OP posts:
chemenger · 05/07/2017 16:19

Can you put out a few extra litter trays, just to give him more opportunities to pee? One near his hiding place. Otherwise you know all the tricks; don't look at him directly, talk calmly in the same room so he gets used to your voice, hang around without trying to engage him. Eventually curiosity will get the better of him and he'll emerge.

Fluffycloudland77 · 05/07/2017 16:29

Well he might have peed. Somewhere.

cozietoesie · 05/07/2017 16:33

He already has 3 trays out, Chemenger. (Siamese are funny cusses.)

Thanks Fluffy. Grin

cozie I'm so happy to hear you have a new feline in your life Smile

Hope your new lad settles in soon, but I'm sure he will. Lucky him to have found you, he'll have a lovely life with you.

chemenger · 05/07/2017 16:43

I wasn't going to say that Fluffy Smile

cozietoesie · 05/07/2017 17:03

Ha! Grin

OP posts:
cozietoesie · 05/07/2017 17:32

He waited until I was out of the room and then changed position to under the bed. Now that's clever. Wink

Allergictoironing · 05/07/2017 18:32

Remember mine took 3 days to be seen when I got them home, they used the tray on the 2nd night after I'd gone to bed but not the first. Now of course they prefer to poo when I'm in the room, so i get the full benefit of the awesome odour that especially Boycat produces!

Sounds like a typical Siamese - smart, untrusting (until they know the situation), and always getting you to run rings round them. Grin
