Currently in the middle of making arrangements to meet - he's a breed rescue - and yet to check over the house for 'breakability' issues etc. (He's only young - and it's a good few years since I had a cat that could potentially leap living with me.)

Yikes!!

I'm thinking more along the lines of NOT putting the central heating on, but a nice warm electric blanket on the bed Wink. Maybe starting during the day when The Creature isn't in the bed, so he can try it out safely.

The very thought of heating on here though is a bit distressing - 26c today at 4pm (though a cooler evening than of late).

cozietoesie · 16/08/2017 20:29

I wouldn't worry at all if we were at those temperatures. Sadly, we're not.

He's under the bed right now. Smile

Well that has to be a plus Smile.

I've recently managed to tempt thick scared Boycat onto the bed briefly while I'm in it, by laying a trail of Dreamies starting at the edge then moving further onto the bed so he can't reach them without jumping up. So maybe a little dish of fresh roast chicken on the other side of the bed to yours and staying VERY still may persuade him to at least try?

cozietoesie · 16/08/2017 22:05

He was given some Dreamiest by a friend but - unfortunately - he's preternaturally bright. (Sealpoint stock.) He wouldn't believe it. Sad

I had to (almost) wake him up for his lunch. Smile

He was sick last night. In his downstairs tray.

He's taken to 'watching' me. (From spaces where he thinks he can't be seen.) I may have made the transition from 'The' Creature to 'His' Creature. Smile

You'll have "the gaze" soon enough Wink

cozietoesie · 18/08/2017 14:23

I think the nice nosh is helping. Smile

Of course! Ollie v much likes those Whiskas treats, every time I get the tub out his tail starts quivering Grin

cozietoesie · 18/08/2017 14:44

I've had yowls when I'm not fast enough preparing his nosh at Chicken Time. Smile

OP posts:
cozietoesie · 18/08/2017 14:46

Well. When I say 'yowls' - they're more of 'I'm still here - what's the holdup?' noises.

Oh, it does sound like he's coming round :). I can't wait for the first tentative up-close sniff and nudge.

Ollivander84 · 18/08/2017 15:27

Oh yes the "I might starve to death here"
Every morning I fall over Ollie while he screeches at me. I haven't once forgotten to feed him but I might Smile

YetAnotherSpartacus · 18/08/2017 15:34

Pretending to forget to feed Ollie sounds like a fun game ...:)

Ollivander84 · 18/08/2017 15:39

Only if I want to lose my hearing. He shouts from the minute my feet touch the floor in the morning and then while I go in the bathroom, and boil the kettle. Constant noise

Allergictoironing · 18/08/2017 17:18

Whereas mine take it in turns to wander into the bedroom, sit right in the doorway and STARE. It was Boycat's turn this morning, with those great big soulful but brainless eyes of his. Never a sound when they are after food, just The Look.

cozietoesie · 19/08/2017 21:20

A number of calls for his 9pm nosh tonight. Smile

Ollivander84 · 19/08/2017 21:24

You are now the creature that provides tasty food. Winning Wink

cozietoesie · 19/08/2017 21:30

He's going all over the house. If he keeps this up (up and down the stairs) he shall put on much muscle. Smile

yayayayay!!! brilliant news for a sunny Sunday morn.

I am back to The Tail of Newboy, phew. The internet people sent me such a massive bill it bounced and they cut me off, both errors. Of course it took me ages to work out, hence slight delay. EE grovelled by the way, they were really good.

AM so glad to hear about Newboy. Self and Mr C send regards. V macho nurse came to pick up Mr C for blood test and dropped carrier in hall in shock.

Manly nurse said 'No offence, luv, but your cat is A UNIT.

He's a REAL UNIT.'

I said weakly my little scrap of fur had just had breakfast and might look a little plump because of this. Then I whipped out a bottle of wine with a bow on it as a sweetener.

We managed to wedge Mr C into the carrier for Medium Dog and he and Mr Manly had a lovely time together.

Lanaorana2 · 20/08/2017 09:50

Have just read the updates. Newboy is clearly enjoying himself. He knows he has landed on his paws. He is getting happy, I suspect for the first time in his life. He likes this.

Not that you are allowed to know any of the above, of course. :)

Oldraver · 20/08/2017 10:18

I wonder if Newboy is aware there are people me checking in each day to see if there are any pictures ?

Puffpaw · 20/08/2017 10:51

Very much enjoying newboys story. 🐈🐈🐈
