I have taken the liberty of making a new thread! Maisie and Freya are relaxing in a patch of sun

Had a huge thunderstorm here last night which has left dcat1 on edge all day. She has spent most of it in the dc's Trolls bag!!

She has a bell, it makes no difference. According to the neighbour she killed a magpie recently Shock and left the feathers in their garden. I haven't seen her with a magpie, the most I've ever known her catch is a mouse, or flies, plenty of tortured flies. Hmm

Ollivander84 · 27/05/2017 21:36

Ollie just hurtled in screaming because the heavens have opened. And then jumped on me to whine some more. Thanks!

cozietoesie · 27/05/2017 21:38

Killing a magpie would be good going. I have some in the tree outside my bedroom window and I always know when something is attempting a predation. The noise!

Bogburglar75 · 27/05/2017 21:44

A magpie would be impressive. Is she big/heavy? BogCat did manage to leap into the air and bring down a pigeon once. Then slightly surprised Cat and slightly concussed pigeon spent some time looking at each other with a 'so what do we do now' expression.

Pigeon got away.

dementedpixie · 27/05/2017 21:50

One sprawled out under the clothes horse and the other on the living room windowsill. They have been wandering about outside in between the rain and thunder so must be tired now

Her picture is upthread sitting on the box with one of our other mogs inside it. She's about 4.4kg of cattitude. She's bitey and swipey to humans. There are plenty of other cats in the neighbourhood who could have killed the magpie.

One of ours did kill one last summer and every magpie in the street came to squawk at him as he trotted off with the corpse in his mouth.

Ollivander84 · 27/05/2017 22:00

We used to have a pigeon that would dive bomb you while you were riding. That was fun(!)
I spent a lot of time cursing it and one day it disappeared. I suspect stable cat had a hand in that Grin

Soubriquet · 27/05/2017 22:02

We now have a plan for winter for Tootsie...

The outhouse she's taken up residence in has a door on it (our tumble dryer and Washing machine are in there)

So we are going to fit a cat flap to the door, get an oil radiator and have that set up in there to keep it warmer. Then if she needs warm shelter she's got it

cozietoesie · 27/05/2017 22:03

Well all I can say, Ollivander, is that any humans that get on your wrong side ought to be wary of meeting strange dark cats. I wouldn't put 'larger prey than a mouse' past that one. Wink

cozietoesie · 27/05/2017 22:04

So it would really be 'House No 2' ? Smile

Ollivander84 · 27/05/2017 22:05

Very much so, I've seen her carrying two rabbits at a time Blush

Soubriquet · 27/05/2017 22:13

Yeah pretty much Grin

cozietoesie · 27/05/2017 22:16

No - that is good, Soubriquet. You can do your 'I just need to check out XXXXXXX' whenever you feel the need for some quiet time. Wink

Soubriquet · 27/05/2017 22:25

Yep. May not be a perfect life for a cat who's used to home comforts but I will do my best to make sure she's warm, dry, safe and fed.

She's so much happier now it's amazing to see

cozietoesie · 27/05/2017 22:28

Was it the dog, really, though?

HemanOrSheRa · 28/05/2017 05:40

Frankie has come in for an early morning cuddle and a nose boop Smile.

Niles (the smaller of the two young brothers) is trying to see howong he can stretch.

Old cat for whom we bought the pair as she was lonely is still refusing to have anything to do with them (although she'll tolerate Niles a bit more as he's not as "in her face" as Frasier); that's her back in the picture.

They fit their personalities and physiques amazingly well Wink

One is bigger, more muscular and a bit bumptious. The other is more petite and delicate and is always looking for affection Grin

Want2beme · 28/05/2017 11:00

Cookie and biscuit is a real success story. I wish I could say the same for my three tyrants!

TheCatOfAthenry · 28/05/2017 11:06

@Want2beme the trick was starting a thread in aibu to ask was ibu to be so excited. Someone told me I was being naive thinking Cookie would be excited to have cat company.

Cookie and Biscuit then sensed my defiant determination and became the best of friends...

(Or I just got very lucky. But probably the first one. Wink)
