I have taken the liberty of making a new thread! Maisie and Freya are relaxing in a patch of sun

Ensuring our home is safe from stray socks.

I shouldn't talk, I guess. Seniorboy had whatever he fancied - whenever he fancied it. Blush

cozietoesie · 27/06/2017 22:02

Sock pairs rolled into a oner are a joy to cats, TheCat. (They have to be left behind the sofa though - so that they can become objets trouves. (Excuse the lack of accent.))

TheCatOfAthenry · 27/06/2017 22:03

Just realised I post a lot of Biscuit lately - mainly because whenever I try to get a good shot of an awake Cookie she rubs her face on the phone and I end up with a blurry photo of her side!

Ollivander84 · 27/06/2017 22:03

I can't resist the eyes Smile
Stablecat I feed just to avoid the teeth and claws. It's safer for both of us just to give her my lunch

cozietoesie · 27/06/2017 22:05
Grin
Fluffycloudland77 · 27/06/2017 22:10

Tell us more about senior boys diet cozie, it will make you feel better.

Like a confessional.

Ollivander84 · 27/06/2017 22:12

I'm guessing smoked salmon and roast chicken Grin
Going to take ollies rejected food for stablecat tomorrow... don't tell him!

TheCatOfAthenry · 27/06/2017 22:15

@Ollivander84 may I suggest you create a children's book about Ollie and Stablecat?

Ollivander84 · 27/06/2017 22:18

I'm not quite sure how I could phrase stablecats killing antics into child friendly language Grin
Ollies FB page is enough for me!

cozietoesie · 27/06/2017 22:52

I recall buying children's books once - these ones included some quite awful details about embalming so I was a little antsy about them. The kids loved them: they were quite content with the gruesomeness! Grin

RubbishMantra · 27/06/2017 23:23

Oh God, your kitten, (Biscuit?) is cuteness with a side order of cute. Especially the way he's defending you from those socks TheCat.

Little M's having a wash on my discarded dressing gown. I managed to catch him with his little tongue out.

Biscuit looking very fierce and brave Grin

EachandEveryone · 28/06/2017 12:25

I've just picked mine up from the cattery they both started screaming and kissing the window pane when they saw me like I was the second coming. Since we got home Daphne has gone back to ignoring me and purposely keeps jumping up on the sideboard and Dolly is her usual skittish self I need to hold her more but I can't get hold of her £180! For a week I've already booked them for September but have said they don't need a suite with a telly a radio is enough!!!

I'm trapped under a sleeping cat after she stuffed herself with salmon pasta

Cats seem to love routine, Each. Try for absolute ordinariness. If she wouldn't normally be allowed up on the sideboard, do what you'd normally do. She'll likely enjoy it. Smile

EachandEveryone · 28/06/2017 12:51

Yes I'm so glad they are getting on and the cattery said they noticed no change in her personality it's just me. She never wants belly rubs anymore I hope that comes back.

Oldraver · 28/06/2017 12:58

I've been slovenly this morning and just threw the bedding to one side so the bedspread was draped on the floor.

I've just found Ernie rolled up in it, couldn't see him in the bedroom but heard him 'mrrrr' when I got near. He used to love rolling up and going to sleep in the bedspread...When we bought the new bed I actually thought twice about it, taking Ernie's fave place away, but he loves the new space under the bed......

And lying on my feet like he is doing at the moment pawing my legs

Freya and Maisie are still on their holidays and seem to be having far too nice a time. They apparently have been doing lots of snuggling and no bopping each other in the face. What if they don't want to come home!? Shock

Someone upthread mentioned a childrens book... May I pitch you an idea?

When I was very little we had a dog who was a scruffy bit-of-everything and my uncle who lived 2 houses away had a giant seal point cat. We lived in the middle of the country but by the sea. Cat and dog were absolute best pals and used to roam about freely, visit each other (they both had two teas for years when dad finally told my uncle he should start feeding his own cat and got same response re dog!) and come home covered in mud/tree branches/ on one occasion dragging someone's lobster pot behind them.

Every night my mum would tell me a story about their adventures. She is a primary teacher and sometimes told her class these stories too. We all loved them and I have long thought that when she retires she should write a series with lovely illustrations. Has anyone seen if something similar exists, would you read gentle cat/dog adventures to your kids? My opinion is affected by my clearly knowing how wonderful my my mum is Grin

Sounds like a great idea - if you can find a good illustrator. Smile

Their behaviour sounds to have changed so it sounds as if they know they're on 'hols' and are behaving well. When do they come home?

TheCatOfAthenry · 28/06/2017 14:05

@caoraich that sounds wonderful. I'd read it to children, cats and myself!

@EachandEveryone for a little while Cookie was less snuggly after Biscuit arrived, but getting back to herself now. Apparently cats don't like to be 'demeaned' in front of their underlings and picking up for cuddles and belly rubs is potentially humiliating!

Glad people are liking my lovely Biscuit. He's so vocal and springy! Cookie even learning kitten skills from him.

Stilllivinginazoo · 28/06/2017 14:19

Scoutcat has taken residence on favourite blankie having growled the new kits away
They are busy upstairs now choosing whose bed is now theirs whilst occupants are at school

cozietoesie · 28/06/2017 15:03

Someone needs to start a new thread. Smile

Ollivander84 · 28/06/2017 15:21

Done Smile
