I have taken the liberty of making a new thread! Maisie and Freya are relaxing in a patch of sun

Everyone will have suggestions, Soubriquet. My own cats have always preferred indoors of a winter's night. (And we had curfew, anyway, apart from for Firstcat, so even if they hadn't..................)

Soubriquet · 26/05/2017 20:36

Yeah she had a curfew too. I would physically go out and bring her in but with the pup being here she was getting more and more miserable

Yowling at doors and windows, crouching low to the ground when approached.

Doesn't do it now

cozietoesie · 26/05/2017 20:40

I've never used 4fleas, OhWhat. Have you tried other potions? If he's indoors and keeps getting fleas, I'm wondering whether you need to try some other things. Do you, for example, treat the house as well? (Eg carpets.)

caffeinestream · 26/05/2017 20:40

Layla wants dinner.

I have to tell people. We have 3 indoor cats. They are happy healthy and have never been outside.

Today I came in from work and they were all on the doorstep lying in the sun. I nearly died.

katsnmouse · 26/05/2017 21:28

George enjoyed his brief foray outside. I've grounded him till his eye is better! Day 3 of metacam and it's looking ok- much more open and less gunky

cozietoesie · 26/05/2017 21:44

Noni

Seniorboy was an inside cat for all of his (very long) life but he'd still leave a perfectly good electric blanket to sprawl in the noonday sun. Smile The rays seem to have some attraction for them.

DanceTheBlues · 26/05/2017 21:53

Here's my poor lad trying to work out where he's most comfortable in the heat.

Ollie is moping around the house whining and refusing to eat his perfectly good food Hmm
I suspect over hot and over tired

Nonibaloni · 26/05/2017 22:29

They don't have access to outside. They somehow squeezed out the kitchen window. And the litter tray have been a real treat this evening so heavens knows what they found to eat.

We have a certified cat lady across the road so if she'd found them she would have taken them.

HemanOrSheRa · 26/05/2017 23:25

Noni I know it gave you a fright but imagine them working it out between the three of them! I wonder whose idea it was and who went first? Naughty kitties!

Aw bless him Dance. The back of the sofa looks the comfiest Smile.

HemanOrSheRa · 26/05/2017 23:26

kats is George laughing at you?! Grin

WetsTheFinger · 26/05/2017 23:29

Just remember for every flea you find on the cat there's another 99 in your home.

BrexitSucks · 26/05/2017 23:54

I don't have a pic but I may have an amusing story...

Cats1 & 2 are adults now but littermates. Cat2 thinks it's great fun to stalk & pounce on his brother. Chase him round the garden. Cat1 really hates C2.

I was stroking Cat1's back this evening & thought "WTF is that? Oh no... not another tick." :(

Not a tick. It was a shard of CLAW stuck into Cat1's back. No wonder he hates his brother so much.

flamingnoravera · 26/05/2017 23:58

Mine deposited this on the sacrificial alter outside my room this morning.

Brexit GrinGrinGrin sorry but I'm laughing
Stable cat met the stable puppy last year. She viewed her as a new toy, puppy tried to play, cat launched onto back and dug all her claws into belly. Dog is now bigger but gets smacked across the nose if she pisses the cat off

They are all such magnificent beasts. I love Layla just peering over the plate. Sapphire actually let me cuddle her in the garden today, probably had sunstroke,.
Soubriqet, I also have an outside cat, a tabby called Peter Pan, he never ever comes in, except to eat, he's fairly amiable, but despite years of trying to entice him, he just lives outside, he's 13 big and healthy, I think some cats are just made that way, I used to worry, but a mum at school has his brother and he is the same.

Weedsnseeds1 · 27/05/2017 00:40

Drugs, he's doing drugs. Well catnip and lavender infusion....

Frankie just came in briefly to eat and then wailed to be let out. I can't keep him in when it's so hot. It's his first summer of going out and about in the nice weather too. He was too scared to go out on his own this time last year.

How does Mr P cope in the heat with all that fur Weeds?

Weedsnseeds1 · 27/05/2017 02:10

heman I've been in Scotland most of the week, but second hand information is that he lounges around in the house, where it's always cool ( very old house) then out all night. He's currently cooing and chirping all over meSmile

Ditsy79 · 27/05/2017 07:45

Ridiculous cat woke us up at 5am miaowing outside our bedroom window to be let in - despite having a perfectly nice cat flap of her own. She then went out of said cat flap, and sat outside our window again miaowing for her breakfast....

MycatsaPirate · 27/05/2017 09:10

cozie Ginger interloper is a lovely sweet boy. But he is not neutered and has already sprayed in my porch. Tried to find the owner yesterday but the house I went to has a ginger cat which is neutered and is 12 years old and rarely goes out. They have also had ginger interloper in their house!

We are now both trying to find the owner.

After a busy week where we haven't seen much of each other, Percy (S/h) and Merlin (l/h) are having a nice cuddle with me on the bed. They are very grumpy that they're not allowed outside but they are being let out for the first time next weekend so this is our last weekend of sweltering in the house with no open windows or doors!
