I have taken the liberty of making a new thread! Maisie and Freya are relaxing in a patch of sun

What does he do when you're in bed? Smile

Athome77 · 12/06/2017 18:30

Just came back from holiday with the kids, we were gone two weeks and left hubby in charge of the two cats. Normally he works away. Cats had their new friend sitting in kitchen when I returned. Apparently they started inviting neighbours in to party while I was gone, hubby let them. I kicked the friend out at bedtime.

TheCatOfAthenry · 12/06/2017 18:36

@ElizaDontlittle I've been severely anaemic lately and also have long shifts and long sleeps. My floofs come into me for cuddles.

He probably loves his sleep and doesn't feel a bit neglected!

ElizaDontlittle · 12/06/2017 19:37

cozie I don't know exactly what he does, he's not terribly vocal on the subject! He's in my living room with food, water, litter tray, cat tree, toys, bed selection... he has been clawing a little at the carpet by the door but mostly I think when he can hear me elsewhere in the house eg. if I go to the toilet or kitchen.
I don't have either of my cats in bed with me at night - I am hanging by a thread in terms of coping with work and health issues and undisturbed sleep is vital. My big girl comes in with me in the morning though. I worry about squishing the kitten!!
It's too long, isn't it? I'm not sure what to change...

cozietoesie · 12/06/2017 19:40

I've had kittens sleeping with me for umpty years and I've never squished one yet. Smile It's as if there's some unconscious alarm system in your brain that ensures you don't roll on them. (And I'm a terrible flibbertigibbet in bed.)

Fluffycloudland77 · 12/06/2017 19:52

My cat pokes me in the mouth around 4 am for food. He won't take no for an answer either.

He sleeps in the utility.

cozietoesie · 12/06/2017 19:59

I'll confess that my personal boys - all Siamese - have always slept in bed with me. Not only do they require it as 'cat's right' but there's many a night I've effectively been chided for not going to bed soon enough nor for long enough. (They've all loved bed.) Smile

dementedpixie · 12/06/2017 20:05

Our kittens have the run of the house now (didnt at the start) but I don't actually know where they sleep for the majority of the night. Sometimes we get a visitor but I think they sometimes go in with one of the kids or sleep in their cat tree or on the couch or in a shoe box or on the computer chair, etc. Dusty has a tendency to come and scrabble at the ensuite door in my bedroom but he gets chucked out the room for that! He likes to lie in the bath sometimes too

Weedsnseeds1 · 12/06/2017 23:17

Just managed to rescue a thrush from the jaws of death earlier, thrashing and thumping upstairs is suggesting another victim. Guessing mouse at this time of night Sad

cozietoesie · 12/06/2017 23:27

How is the thrush doing?

Ollivander84 · 12/06/2017 23:35

I've never squished Ollie. I have occasionally thrown the duvet over him and he just blinks and goes back to sleep
Currently he's eyeing me up as I smell of DAWG and FOOD

Oh the conflict! Grin

Weedsnseeds1 · 13/06/2017 07:13

The thrush flew away, so hopefully OK. He grabbed it by the wing right in front of me as it flew past, so removed immediately. Mouse also rescued ( for once) as it had managed to hide in a shoe.

Oldraver · 13/06/2017 12:03

I think the blinds photo was from yesterday...he couldn't decide whether to go out or not...

Today he has decide he will sunbathe and roll around in the mud

MCat and Little M having a snooze on the bed yesterday.

Only problem is, Little M enjoyed an ecstatic roll about in the dirt first, and his curly, slightly greasy fur (normal for his breed) is a magnet for garden stuff. So when I pulled back the lovely white cotton sheets I was greeted with a liberal scattering of soil and leaves.

He just wandered into the bedroom (like a few of us on this thread, not been terribly well lately) covered on cobwebs and garden stuff, managed to grab him to pick it out. This time.

Making a mess of their colour co ordinated dining area....

I think they might be dogs in disguise as the only water they'll drink from bowls is when it's next to food which apparently is NOT a Cat Thing.... also maisie has been chasing her tail

I have come home from work to find tiny kidneys and tiny intestines on the bedroom carpet.

No other signs of a massacre. Cat is nowhere to be seen because he knows what's good for him

Bleurgh.

EachandEveryone · 13/06/2017 19:41

caoraich · 13/06/2017 19:51

Oh wow Each how is she coping on the tube? I was quite tempted to use the train and then the tube here for Maisie's last vet visit (she sicked in the car previously) but chickened out and drove veeeeery slowly.

EachandEveryone · 13/06/2017 20:14

No probs I got a taxi there but she was fine on the tube. To be honest I was straight on the tube with her from CP I don't drive my cats have no choice! Does anyone know if they are ok to mix straight after vaccinations and flea abs worm treatment or could Daphne lick it off? Do they feel crap after their jabs?

They can sometimes be a bit 'off' for a short period afterwards. Sleepy perhaps. How is she doing?

EachandEveryone · 13/06/2017 23:09

Shes fine asleep in my room the other one wont come in though. Im annoyed as the neighbour said he'd locked the cat flap and has "forgot" to tell me hed open in again when his cat shat on the landing floor because he didnt bother to leave his flat door ajar shes watching the dodgy goings on ar the garages downstairs. Everytime i call her she runs away. Im up at 6 i dont know whether to sleep with the flat door ope. Or just lock her out if she isnt back by midnight. I cant climb on the roof and shouting doesnt work.

EachandEveryone · 13/06/2017 23:23

Shes back in she followed the cat next door through the flap. Ive really got to calm down about her not coming in. I get so anxious i think its since my lodger locked her out twice. And also if im working i get wound up if im not in bed by a certain time. I need to take deep breaths and have a small glass of red.
