I have taken the liberty of making a new thread! Maisie and Freya are relaxing in a patch of sun

Does he shoot out of the tray with the zoomies, scattering litter everywhere, when he has finished. Shock

Or does he stalk out carefully with a look of "It wasn't me that left that disgusting mess, now clean up human!".

EachandEveryone · 29/05/2017 10:28

I always think if I every have a friend for Daphne I would call him Niles or Frasier. I saw a young female on the rspca website called Rose I rang to enquire but the wouldn't entertain me living in a flat. I was going to change her name to Roz.

I came home to find a letter from the breast clinic to go in for further assessment. It's one thing after another.

Daph isxat home annoying the cleaner I'm hiding in a coffee shop.

YesItsMeIDontCare · 29/05/2017 10:34

He scratches pathetically at the sides of the tray 'til I get the scoop and chuck it in the toilet!

To be fair to him though, if he does cover it I can't flush it 'cause there's too much litter on it, it's only flushable with a few grains.

He still manages to scatter litter all over the place lace when he gets out though Hmm.

cozietoesie · 29/05/2017 11:17

Hope you're doing fairly OK, Each. Thinking of you all.

EachandEveryone · 29/05/2017 12:23

I'm studying for an exam I can't retain anything these days. I have all the doors open Daphne cones and goes as she pleases which isn't very far. We have the living in a flat thing down to a T now and I keep thinking people live in terrace houses with just a small back yard it's no different really.

Her poos have gone hard since I've been away should I get rid on the dry food for abit?

MycatsaPirate · 30/05/2017 11:44

Not sure which cat it was, either Marshall or Bella but found a baby mouse lying on the patio yesterday evening. It was covered in ants but moving. I got it indoors, warmed it up and then dp drove me and the mouse to a lady who helps wildlife about 10 miles away. She fed it every two hours through the night but sadly it died this morning. I feel very sad.

When we got back last night I checked the patio and found I'd missed another baby, it had fallen in the cracks between two slabs and was being bitten by the ants. Got that one in and worked on it for an hour, trying to warm it up and massage it but it sadly died too.

I love my cats but I hate it when they bring me stuff :(

Photo is of mouse 1 while it was still alive, nestled into my cleavage for warmth.

I agree Pirate - I know they are naturally hunty animals but I really hate being brought stuff. Wouldn't be so bad if they actually ate the things they catch!

I read somewhere that it's because they are trying to teach us useless humans how to hunt.

The exception of course is spiders. Freya saved me from a mahoosive one in the bath the other day and it was so large she shared some of it with Maisie Shock

Cookie's afraid of outside and Biscuit is still little, so no presents for us right now, but our house has never had such few insects.

MycatsaPirate · 30/05/2017 13:01

One of ours eats flies and spiders. I don't mind the fly catching, it's a godsend in the summer! However the window ledges are covered in small black bodies!

I think it was Bella who found the mice. Marshall hasn't bothered with hunting for a couple of years, he's getting on and is just so bloody lazy.

We only got Bella last year and she's 5. She came from a rural home up country somewhere and is a prolific toy hunter in the house. However there were no injuries on the mice, seems she gently picked them up and brought them back (from somewhere up the garden, probably under the sheds) as a gift for me.

The rescue lady is going to give me some milk, a dropper and a small first aid kit so that if I get any more presents I can at least give them a good chance of survival. This lady is a legend, she took in two pheasant chicks yesterday, a wagtail and she also has a gull in her garden at the moment. She is the local 'go to' person for anything wild.

Ollivander84 · 30/05/2017 13:09

Ollie shrieks and runs away from spiders Hmm

Ollie shrieks and runs away from spiders

Then unless you like spiders dumped on your bed at 6am, missing maybe two legs, then that cat's a keeper.

Ollivander84 · 30/05/2017 13:51

Grin he doesn't catch or hunt anything, I am very lucky. Also slightly suspicious of how he managed 4 years as a stray. I suspect lots of big eyed looks at humans Hmm

cozietoesie · 30/05/2017 13:54

He may both catch and hunt - just doesn't bring semi-trophies back. Smile

Ollivander84 · 30/05/2017 13:55

Very true. Or eat them in front of everyone like stable cat
He's on neighbourhood watch as there's a DAWG outside hence the dislocating his neck to watch

Besides which, you're feeding him. Smile

Alakazam7 · 30/05/2017 14:32

Dave is an expert fly catcher which I don't mind at all. Scared of birds though?! due to a magpie vs kitten incident which we don't discuss- but watches them from a safe distance. Loves to chase any passing butterflies. Today he is practicing his camouflage skills!

LemonRedwood · 30/05/2017 19:29

No idea what he's up to today as I haven't seen him since breakfast.

Visitor-cat is helping me get through the washing though.

Hold that - Visitor-cat has just exited through cat flap as he's realised that, once again, I've moved all the cat food where he can't get to it. Every time.

Elvis went to the vets today for a general check/ flea/ worming/ claw clip ( first time cat owner so wanted to make sure I was doing everything correctly ) . Hebwad weighed - 5.4 kg and is apparently overweight so I should reduce his food - I felt awful but then I looked at these photos ( taken 1 min apart ) so I think I can be forgiven for not noticing he was overweight!
