......will one day falter.

I'm afraid that Seniorboy died late this afternoon. At the vet's. I have some very very fine whisky waiting to salute him with and I am just going to go and light a candle for him. I probably won't be around for a few days - or if I am, you'll have to bear with some rather tipsy posting.

My Darling old lad.

I have my very posh tea light candle lit. I managed it without setting myself or my hair on fire Grin.

So sorry to hear that. He had a good innings but life without him will feel strange for a while. I enjoyed reading about his exploits. Sleep well seniorboy.

timtam23 · 29/03/2017 23:13

I am so sorry cozie. I loved hearing about Seniorboy and seeing his photos. Thoughts with you and the family Flowers

TheGirlOnTheLanding · 29/03/2017 23:13

22! My goodness. What a grand life he had. So sorry to hear he's left you, Cozie. He was a gorgeous boy and I know you (and The Lodger) will miss him hugely.

nothruroad · 29/03/2017 23:20

I'm so sorry to hear this, Cozie. I'm just a litter tray lurker but I felt I knew Seniorboy too. What a great life he had with you and your mum. He was a very lucky cat.

cozietoesie · 29/03/2017 23:32

My DBro said, recently, something like ' a .hoiuse isn't a home until it has a .Siamese'. Maybe that should be extended to cats in general!? Smile

Your DBro is right and you are right. A house isn't a home without at least one cat draped somewhere Smile.

isadorable · 29/03/2017 23:52

I'm so sorry. He was such a character, so handsome and you gave him a totally wonderful existence xx

cozietoesie · 30/03/2017 00:08

Well - he led a life of indulgence, it's fair to say. We didn't expect him to make 15 so decided to spoil him. Smile Good job I'm Top Cat in this house or things might have got...... rough. Grin

I am so so sorry. RIP Seniorboy and I hope you are lazing away in a patch of glorious sun

Ollivander84 · 30/03/2017 00:15

P.s one small wax burner lit. The scent is summer days which seemed appropriate for him FlowersFlowers

TheLongRider · 30/03/2017 00:21

I'm so sorry for your loss. I hope you toasted him with a 20 year old single malt.

I like the idea of a candle being lit for him. I'm Irish and we do like a good wake, with candles and whiskey and lots of tales of the departed. This thread can be the Litter Tray's wake for Senior Boy.

cozietoesie · 30/03/2017 01:36

Only 18 year old , I fear - but of family significance. The candle has helped hugely. I keep putting my feet down into the bed and finding - nothing, though. Achhhh.

I'm still perched on the outside 6". Training runs deep .

The vet, by the way, was wonderful.

Oh, I'm sorry Cozie SadFlowers

He had a great life with you and he was well-loved. Un-mumsnetty hugs for you.

Wh0Kn0wsWhereTheTimeGoes · 30/03/2017 07:12

RIP Seniorboy, Flowers

Allergictoironing · 30/03/2017 07:25

Only just seen this so I think everything I wanted to say, has been said already. RIP Seniorboy.

Give yourself a few days to mourn him before acting on his will. I know he can never be replaced, just a different shaped furry lump will occupy a similar area in your life for the NEXT 20-odd years.

Noitsnotteatimeyet · 30/03/2017 09:25

I'm so sorry cozie - he was absolutely beautiful and obviously a real character who will be sorely missed Flowers

scaryteacher · 30/03/2017 09:50

I'm so sorry too. One of my original trio died at 19, and I still miss him 12 years on.

TimeIhadaNameChange · 30/03/2017 10:01

So sorry to hear that, Cozie, and apologies for only just now finding this.

Shall have a dram myself in his honour tonight, and give Tilly something extra yummy so she can join in. x

OneMoreForExtra · 30/03/2017 10:11

So very sorry to hear this. Your gorgeous boy. You were so kind to me when both my beautiful little friends left me - I hope all the support on here is a comfort to you now. He was an immensely special cat.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 30/03/2017 11:38

I'm so sorry. Flowers

LanaorAna1 · 30/03/2017 11:45

London candle is back on, I reckon it will last the week. Mr C knows something's up - he hasn't set tried to set fire to his tail at all.

Cozie I am thinking of you and hope you at least manage to get some toast down. Smoothies are good if you can't eat anything. You can put vodka in if necessary.

The Spirit of Seniorboy is uppermost in my mind today - all I know is that by way of tribute something good is going to happen round these parts.

Kiroro · 30/03/2017 11:55

flowers x

anoldiebutagoody · 30/03/2017 11:56

Aww cozie I am so sad to hear this, RIP Seniorboy x, what a wonderful age and from your posts it is obvious that he knew how much he was loved.
I hope the candle (and the whisky) is still helping, be kind to yourself.
