Snorgmaiden has been admitted to the emergency vets with a high temperature, conjunctivitis, and enlarged stomach and enlarged lymph nodes. Thought something was t right last night but not overly worried. Slightly worried this morning but thought I was being neurotic. Took one look at her when I got home from work and straight to the emergency vets. Hopefully an infection but worst case may be lymphoma. She's having loads of tests Tonight and they will ring me later. Need my hand holding you lovely lot. Sad

Nah, previous cat was obsessed with baked beans and spaghetti hoops ( and olives, crisps, pesto, curry, cauliflower, broccoli, noodles...) and lived until 20. Don't fret!

Toddlerteaplease · 26/02/2017 22:44

Feeling very lucky to have both girls curled up and snoring on my bed. Not left much room for me though!

Aaah lovely. I sleep better when ours is on the bed well until she climbs on me.

RubbishMantra · 26/02/2017 23:47

Ah, the artful positioning of the body around the cats, so as not to disturb them. MCat actually hisses at my legs if I dare move. The boys take up 3/4 of the bed.

I'm so happy that Snorg's home and thriving.

cozietoesie · 27/02/2017 00:10

You get a quarter of the bed? With two cats? Lap of luxury that! Grin

RubbishMantra · 27/02/2017 01:05

Well that's if they're feeling benevolent, Cozie. I've learned to grip onto the mattress in my sleep.

Toddlerteaplease · 27/02/2017 06:51

They are very generous. I do occasionally have to hold fatty on. She likes to snuggle next to me right on the edge of the bed.

Just got home to a completely empty food bowl!! Do I know she's definitely eating. My parents checked on her this afternoon and got lots of purring. Do I get any? No! Typical!!

HemanOrSheRa · 27/02/2017 20:41

Ah there, see? She's telling you she luffs you. By completely ignoring you Grin.

Fluffycloudland77 · 27/02/2017 20:42

When is she back at the vets?

Kevinbaconsrealwife · 27/02/2017 21:01

Ah that's much better news, haVe been wondering how she/ you/ her sister are doing and Am delighted at what I've read...keep moving forward Snorg and enjoy all your lovely treats and titbits bless your little heart x

Toddlerteaplease · 27/02/2017 21:14

She's back for a checkup on Wednesday. Will ask them to remove the feeding tube as I'm not using it. Still waiting for biopsy results. Though with the way she's bounced back I think it's unlikely to be anything sinister. Still can't get my head round that she's still with me. Was absolutely convinced she would have to be put to sleep.

Finally seen her having a good drink, phew!

It sounds as if she's back in the habits again? Fingers crossed anyway. Smile

Vinorosso74 · 27/02/2017 22:37

Brilliant news! No reason for tube now so the sooner you can get rid the better. Ho Snorg.

Toddlerteaplease · 28/02/2017 06:22

Resisting the temptation to take it out my self, she just had of her coughing fits and got her self into a real pickle. (Doesn't usually bother her) so hope she's not dislodged it.

Got a text from my dad at 2.30pm with a picture of an empty food bowl asking if he should refill it! Got home from work and it's empty again! Think they've got hollow legs!

Was just looking if there was an update. She's got a bit of weight to get back on so all good. Hope all goes ok at the vet.

Toddlerteaplease · 28/02/2017 22:24

Since she needs to loose half a kilo as shes'very fat'. I'm not to worried about her weight. The lumps have completely gone now.

OP posts:
RubbishMantra · 01/03/2017 02:59

Oh, that's good news about the lumps going away. I'm always a bit Hmm about what some vets say regarding weight. Apparently Little M's at the top end of weight. He looks like a prancing cauliflower on long lanky legs!

Toddlerteaplease · 01/03/2017 11:34

Biopsy results show necrotising lymphadenitis. An infected lymph node in her neck, which caused the pancreatitis/ triaditis. We have children on my ward all the time with this, but very rare in cat's apparently! Feeding tube out. The vet couldn't believe she had recovered so well, she had only seen her when she was very poorly. Thought I'd never get her back as she was cuddling her. Think they all fell in love with her! Check up next week then discharge. Ignoring the fact that it's Ash Wednesday and a day of fasting an abstinence and celebrating with a caramel latte. Thankyou all for your support through a horrendous two weeks. It's been lovely to know that so many people care about my girls. And all three of us are so grateful!!

Bloody hell thats a serious condition! God will understand about the latte.

It would have been such a shame after her previous life if you'd lost her. They deserve long happy lives.

iloveeverykindofcat · 01/03/2017 12:47

Oh the poor girl. I've had acute pancreatitis. It's agony. She looks so cute all cuddled up on the couch!

cozietoesie · 01/03/2017 12:53

So pleased that she - and you! - licked it. Smile
