Snorgmaiden has been admitted to the emergency vets with a high temperature, conjunctivitis, and enlarged stomach and enlarged lymph nodes. Thought something was t right last night but not overly worried. Slightly worried this morning but thought I was being neurotic. Took one look at her when I got home from work and straight to the emergency vets. Hopefully an infection but worst case may be lymphoma. She's having loads of tests Tonight and they will ring me later. Need my hand holding you lovely lot. Sad

Just a bit, though.

Vinorosso74 · 23/02/2017 18:00

I would tube feed her some so at least she's had some and see if she eats overnight.
When ours had a feeding tube we gave her small feeds in it but after 2 or 3 days at home she was eating better so reduced the tube feed anounts it until it came out.

Well my dad has had head butts and fussing demanded. Grin

Sounds like she's feeling better then!

cozietoesie · 23/02/2017 18:14

She's showing off. Smile

Toddlerteaplease · 23/02/2017 18:19

Vino, I've just given her a big feed now and some extra water and I'll feed her again when I get home in the morning. She tends to eat and drink more overnight than in the day anyway. Seeing the vet at 2pm tomorrow anyway.

It's cat for "do you know what your daughters done?"

cozietoesie · 23/02/2017 18:39

You're not wrong there! Grin

Toddlerteaplease · 23/02/2017 21:41

She's spent the entire evening sitting next to my dad on the sofa. Envy

You are obviously persona non grata at the moment! All that malicious ( and necessary) vet treatment you have foisted on her! My boy has his first set of boosters on Monday and will probably fall out of love with me too Confused

cozietoesie · 23/02/2017 22:26

She's showing off to your Dad. It's a 'See how nice I can be when she isn't around.' (Consequence of vet treatment with some cats, I fear.)

Toddlerteaplease · 24/02/2017 06:21

Fatty has slept on the bed with him and Snorg under the bed as usual. I feel cheated on! If fatty is waiting outside the bathroom to (escort him back to the bedroom)while he's in the shower I shall be doubly betrayed!!

I's going to make it a lot easier to get him across as cat sitter. Wink Compliment him for it. ('They never do that for me, Dad.........' etc. Grin)

Toddlerteaplease · 24/02/2017 15:01

Just been to the vets. They are concerned as she's still not eating much. I asked for an appetite stimulant as suggested by the lady who owns the rescue I got her from. With the warning that it can make them a bit hyper. Gave first dose at vets and she's found her voice again and was trying her best to get out of her basket!! She's currently got her head in the food bowl!

RubbishMantra · 24/02/2017 15:24

Ah, that's good news that your little Snorg's wanting to eat more. Sounds like the appetite stimulant worked, long may it continue. Smile

cozietoesie · 24/02/2017 15:45

It seems that her innards are working so if the stimulant puts her back in the habit?

Fingers crossed, anyway.

Toddlerteaplease · 24/02/2017 15:55

Hopefully, it's the first time I've seen her near the food bowl in a long time. There were a couple of dreemies on the floor and she scoffed them. Although the vets are concerned it is Lymphoma, things just don't add up and I'm still wondering if she's had a huge infection, that's knocked her for six and it's taking time to get back on her feet. And I wouldn't want to be eating if I'd had a major op only 8 days ago. Apparently once a cat stops eating it can be very difficult to get them going again. So hopefully this will give her the boost she needs. Is this just wishful thinking or might I be right?

cozietoesie · 24/02/2017 15:56

Bit of both, I reckon. Smile Here's hoping, anyway.

cozietoesie · 24/02/2017 15:57

At the least, though, Toddler, it will get some calories into her. No bad thing from the sound of it.

cozietoesie · 24/02/2017 16:04

The really big thing is likely going to be Second Poo. Then you'll know that things are working OK, inside. (Thank Goodness for the first one.)

Toddlerteaplease · 24/02/2017 16:11

The other thing that has been mentioned is lymphadenitis. Enlargement of the lymph glands in the neck caused by a virus. I've looked after heaps of kids with huge lumps in their necks. It's our bread and butter. Would be very ironic if it was that!

OP posts:
Toddlerteaplease · 24/02/2017 16:11

She's most definitely pooing!!

For the first time it's been interesting comparing their litter tray habits while Magic was in hospital. Now I know it's her who wees at the very edge of the box and it's like concrete to get off as it can't clump there!!

OP posts:
cozietoesie · 24/02/2017 16:13

Good. Smile

Vinorosso74 · 24/02/2017 16:31

Last time our cat had an appetite stimulant we went out for the afternoon and came back to food everywhere, think she must have shoved her head straight in the bowl!
Here's hoping they soon find out what the problem is.
