Snorgmaiden has been admitted to the emergency vets with a high temperature, conjunctivitis, and enlarged stomach and enlarged lymph nodes. Thought something was t right last night but not overly worried. Slightly worried this morning but thought I was being neurotic. Took one look at her when I got home from work and straight to the emergency vets. Hopefully an infection but worst case may be lymphoma. She's having loads of tests Tonight and they will ring me later. Need my hand holding you lovely lot. Sad

I doubt it to be honest she's never wanted chicken when I've offered her titbits. Sardines in tomato sauce has also been suggested, as cat's go mad for it apparently. So might try that.

She's been on metacam for over a week now wondering if that's making her feel off.

Going to hold off milk today and see if she eats without me filling her up. She hoovered up a handful of dreemies. I think she's being stubborn now.

Got home and over half the food I put out this morning is gone. Fatty doesn't eat a huge amount. So doubt it was all her. Now snoozing happily

Poorly Snorgmaiden. Hand hold please.

As long as she's content, eh?

RubbishMantra · 25/02/2017 18:04

Oh, just had a thought. Have you tried scrambled eggs? With maybe a splash of water instead of milk to keep them gooey? When MCat was neutered, that's what the vet recommended. You could even garnish it with crumbled up Dreamies.

Toddlerteaplease · 25/02/2017 18:14

Yes but I forgot about that! Just opened a tin of cat pate and she was straight in it. Not sure if she's actually earned much, as she's not a huge fan of wet food. But she's sitting licking her lips. Her sister hasn't eaten much of it either. I would say the food bowl emptiness is average for the time of day so I am sure she's had something. Still giving her water down the tube to make sure she doesn't get crispy but that's because I get very anxious about fluid balances.

She's always been an affectionate cat but these extra snuggles have been lovely!

Cautiously hoping she's turning a corner here Smile

Toddlerteaplease · 25/02/2017 21:52

I think she has. Back to her usual self. She's eaten really well today. Only gave her water through her tube. Keep feeling her lumps and thinking they've gone down, then realising they haven't. But think they really have today.

Leave the lumps alone! (Difficult, I know. Smile)

Toddlerteaplease · 25/02/2017 22:13

I know, my friend has just said the same thing!

So glad to hear that!

Vinorosso74 · 26/02/2017 11:23

Pleased she's eating better. Sounds like she's getting there.

Toddlerteaplease · 26/02/2017 11:46

Don't think she's drinking much. Have held off giving her water or the mitazapine today to see how she goes. She needs her own thirst reflex to kick in again. She's usually a very good drinker. She has a cup that she likes drinking out of. Hope I won't get told off by the vet for stopping feeds. But she just wasn't hungry which was why she wasn't eating. I thing the recovery feed is much higher calorie than her usual food. And she's not an active outdoor cat. She's fairly static! Still waiting for biopsy results, but I doubt it's anything sinister as she's bounced back to quick and her coat is shiny and glossy and eyes are bright.

Has she pood in her tray again?

Toddlerteaplease · 26/02/2017 14:27

Yes. Bowels back to normal. Difficult to tell as she shares with her sister, ditto the food bowl. But I scooped out a normal amount this morning. And the amount of food gone from the bowl this morning was pretty average. The food is left in the spare room was gone as well. Will give her some more cat pate later. And if it it doesn't look like she's drank I will top her up down her tube. Treating my self to a Cadbury creme egg. As feel completely she'll shocked by this whole thing!

You've done very well, Toddler. A creme egg is a fair reward, I think? Smile

It's up to her now?

Weedsnseeds1 · 26/02/2017 15:53

If she normally eats dry and you've been giving her wet, she will drink less than normal. Might be getting more liquid than you think?

Toddlerteaplease · 26/02/2017 17:22

She only had half a can of pate. But if she can eat then she can drink. I just get really hung up about dehydration. I'm the same with human patients!

TheLongRider · 26/02/2017 17:37

One of my cats is on the I/D cat pate. He doesn't drink as much as normal when he's eating it. The rest of the time he's on dry food and drinks to thirst, preferably out of a puddle that forms on my child's sand pit lid!

Toddlerteaplease · 26/02/2017 17:50

Omg it would appear that she likes baked beans. Left my plate on the sofa while I peel an orange and the little bugger just licked the plate! She's never ever done that before, won't even have tit bits when offered! Ps bean juice so t do her any harm will it?

OP posts:
TheLongRider · 26/02/2017 18:15

All mine have survived eating bean juice! It doesn't seem to have any effect on them.

RubbishMantra · 26/02/2017 20:04

I thought bean juice was a euphemism for something! Mine always lick my plate if I don't wash it up straight away. MCat's mad for mayonnaise and Vegemite. It's useful to remember these things if you want to disguise meds.

How are the girls getting on with each other? I was just reminded of Snorg when MCat snuggled up to Little M and gave him thorough head wash before doing himself. They're now curled up together snoozing under their baby blanket.

Toddlerteaplease · 26/02/2017 20:48

Fatty has calmed down and is less vocal since she's been home. They had a sniff at each other then normal ignoring resumed. No fisticuffs though. She obviously knows something is wrong She was absolutely amazing when Snorg was in hospital. Never left my side and was so affectionate. Do t know what I'd have done with out her.
