Help please poorly kitten

My 6mth old kitten (Teddy) has been vomiting white frothy liquid since Sat night. Took him to vet yesterday (because I was concerned about the stuff DH had put on the lawn last week) she examined him and did bloods but apart from slightly raised temperature everything was normal. She gave him an injection to help the nausea and he tried to eat a tiny bit of fish last night.
He was sick again last night but nothing since the only thing is he's still not interested in food. He is drinking a little and weeing so that's good but he is sleeping a lot and looking very sorry for himself.
Is there anything I can do/get him to help his tummy and tempt him to eat. Tried steamed fish and chicken and all his favorites but no interest so far.
We (Teddy and me) would be very grateful for any ideas. Thanks Here he is a week or so ago x

Teddy is beautiful!
Have you,served his chicken warm or cold, as they do prefer it abit warmed for the smell. Tuna in water or drained oil is very tempting for poorly cats.

Has he pood at all since he started showing symptoms? If so, what was it like - more or less. (Sorry if that sounds like seeking TMI.)

Hi Cozie. Yes he pood - normal poo on Sunday, nothing since but then again no food going in either.
I was just about to post again as he's just been sick again and there's little specks of red blood in the froth which is now very pale pink. He then went to have a little drink. So it's back to the vet again to borrow methinks.

Back from the vets.
Managed to see my regular vet today I'm glad to say. Teddy's temperature is up 2 degrees and his glands are swollen so he's got antibiotics for that.
She wondered if it was a tapeworm as she'd had the same sort of thing with her cat a little while ago so I have to worm him tomorrow. I did tell the vet on Monday that he was due to be wormed but she said to leave it until he was better.
The blood she thinks he may have damaged a blood vessel by retching because it was bright red - if it was bleeding in the stomach it would have been dark brown (which I already knew). She's given him Zantac to help with the acid in his stomach.
She's really concerned that he's not eaten since Saturday as he's losing a lot of weight and he's quite small anyway. He's got some high protein powder which is mixed with water but he won't eat it so it looks like it'll be a syringe job every couple of hours.
He has to go back on Saturday if he's still not eating so keep your fingers crossed for us.

What a lovely boy! So sorry to hear he's unwell- would he take some warm roast chicken? Has he had any painkillers? This happened to my elderly d dog and the vet explained d dog was probably in a lot of pain from the constant retching.

How is he today?

Just sending best wishes and Flowers - they go down hill so quickly these little puss cats don't they (sadly had very recent experience). I'd say you need to be back at the vets well before Saturday if he's not eating.

Have you tried rotisserie chicken? He might eat more when the Zantac kicks in.

Not really a cat person in the 'awww kitten' sense (I love all animals tbf) but he is absolutely beautiful. I just want to touch him. Wombat and the Pugs send your lovely beautiful kitty all their best wishes and hope for a speedy recovery. One of mine is 8hours post-op at the moment, she's loving the slightly warm chicken more than the cold bless her. Perhaps some tinned salmon?are kitty's allowed that? ThanksWine

I hope your little guy gets better soon. Flowers This is going to sound a bit weird, but something my vet has suggested when my cat has been poorly is scrambled egg. There is also some disgustingly stinky paté type food you can get from the vets that they usually give to animals to tempt them to eat after an anaesthetic. It's this: www.hillspet.co.uk/en-gb/products/pd-feline-prescription-diet-ad-canned.html It's grim but apparently very attractive to cats/dogs that are struggling to eat.

When my cat stops eating I have to hand feed him warmed fish Shock

The smellier the better.

Had incident few years ago when he got dehydrated and needed an iv (he likes to be dramatic) but since then if I notice he is off his food I start with the tinned salmon/ sardines, ping for a few seconds in the microwave and hand feed it.

Hope he is eating soon :)

Thanks for all your replies. I fed Teddy the protein food all day yesterday via a syringe as he wouldn't eat it any other way. It was lovely and sunny here yesterday and he spent all afternoon in the garden but still lethargic but he wasn't sick at all. Thought we'd had a breakthrough last night when he ate a fair bit of warm chicken which he kept down but he was sick just a little bit when he woke up this morning and wouldn't eat any food so it was back to the syringe food. He's had his zantac and antibiotics and is currently sleeping on my bed

I think most animals can go about 5 days without food. Perhaps he was sick because he had too much chicken after nothing? Let us know how he gets on

Well he still wasn't interested in food so we went back to the vet this afternoon. They need to do full blood test and because they couldn't get a lot from him on Monday (because he was a bit dehydrated) they are keeping him in to give him fluids for 12-24 hours. They'll do the bloods tomorrow and try to get him to eat so nothing we can do until we know the results.
I really hated to leave him,he's just a baby and last time I left my lovley old boy there he had to be pts so I'm finding it hard to be positive tonight.

He's home!
They think it's gastritis and his white count was high when they did the bloods so are continuing with the antibiotics and the zantac. He's eating again but still a bit unsettled and not playing like he was before. I'm sure that he'll be fine in a few days. My other rescue is currently cuddling and licking him both laid side by side in the sun.

Update on Teddy.
The antibiotics worked after a second lot and his temperature returned to normal, he was eating and playing normally. Unfortunately it only lasted 3 days and he was back vomiting, not eating and lethargic or sleeping, so back to the vets we went - temperature 103.2, so they've taken more bloods which they have sent off for loads of tests and to be reviewed by a haematologist.
We should have the results sometime tomorrow. I have a really bad feeling that it isn't going to be good news - he's only a baby and is such a beautiful boy he really doesn't deserve to be poorly like this all the time. Please keep your fingers crossed for him, I'll update again when we have the results.

Poor baby - will be keeping fingers and paws crossed for him here.

As for another suggestion of something yummy to tempt him - what about the Webbox Lick-e-Lix treats? Chicken and tuna flavoures yoghurt. Probably not a whole sachet at once as they're probably quite rich, but a little bit licked off a finger may awaken his tastebuds.

For mine it was felix in jelly. Cat crack that stuff.

Same as yours, hadn't eaten in a week. He was elderly and had ibd, i'd tried everything, steamed fish, chicken, egg... Anyway i was about to call the vet out as i though he was suffering too much, and stopped at the shop and bought one of everything they had, figuring he'd got to the end anyway.

Stupid bugger ate half a sachet of felix. Talk about last minute reprieve.

Hope yours is on the mend.
