Some bastard has hit my cat.

Some fucking shit ran over my cat!

My neighbour called me and said someone was speeding down our road ( which drives me mad as we have a school and nursery near us and it is 20 mph, but that's another thread....) and our cat ran across the road and they hit it. Get this they slowed then fucking drove off, did not even get out to see if he was okay.

So I had to take all three of my children home to see if he was dead bloody traumatic for them ( he was not dead) he is now at the vets with god knows what wrong with him, when I picked Him up and put him in my car he collapsed.

So to the Aibu can I watch out for the car as i have the reg and a good description and stick hundreds of post it notes thanking them for not getting out of the car the bastards? Angry

What is mortally right as a decent human being and what is legally required as a citizen can be different.

picklepepper · 02/05/2013 09:40

I hope you've had some good news by now Zep , thank goodness your neighbour saw what happened so you could get the cat to the vet quickly, you've given it the best chance, lets just hope kitty can pull through.

When I was 10 years old we lost a cat, it just disappeared. We put up posters, knocked on the doors of surrounding houses, but we never found her. That didn't stop insensitive idiots prank calling our house (using the number from the posters) and making stupid remarks about seeing our lovely little cat dead on this road, or squashed on another road. It was heartbreaking, and I still do wonder what happened to her. My preferred wondering is that a kind old lady took a shine to her and took her in. Needless to say if something had happened to her, we would have much preferred to know about it so we could deal with it, rather than the not knowing anything at all Sad

Hope to see an update from you soon Zep , I'm rooting for you and kitty!

LEMisdisappointed · 02/05/2013 09:41

flipping eck - I dislike paradise chicks point of view as much as anyone on here, I also feel that she was extremely insensitvie voicing her opinion on this thread. It is an opinion she is entitled to have, but this was not the place to voice it. I have an instinctive distrust of folk who have disregard for animals.

It really is a bit shit though to start calling people a slag and their children brats - just as uncalled for really.

AKAK81 · 02/05/2013 09:57

Personally I'm with Paradise. Its pretty disgusting making personal attacks on someone just because they have a different (and completely legal btw) point of view.

NeoMaxiZoomDweebie · 02/05/2013 10:00

She kept coming back AKA and while those who called her children names and her a slag are out of order, I completely relate to their anger. She had NO right to return repeatedly in order to make Grin faces and say mean things.

She's a very nasty person if this is who she REALLY is.

StuntGirl · 02/05/2013 10:01

AIBU is not generally the place for hand holding, although the OP was distressed people will hop on and give their opinion regardless. It may have lacked tact but it was not personal abuse, which is against the guidelines. The responses however...

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 02/05/2013 10:02

I think there may be hairy handed forces at work on this thread

StuntGirl · 02/05/2013 10:03

Paradise is a regular poster is that's what you mean fanjo.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 02/05/2013 10:03

I do hope Mr Meow is OK,which is the main point here.

Anyone calling someone a slag and their children brats is either a troll or just making themselves look stupid.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 02/05/2013 10:04

No, I didn't mean Paradise

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 02/05/2013 10:06

I will prob be deleted, sorry MNHq. But it was clear to me summat funny was going on when people started arriving and making nasty comments about cats.

I would ignore the inflammatory posts.

I don't mean Paradise, who has just been a wee bit insensitive IMO

There have been several nasty posts on here, not just Paradise. Why?

Yes it's a forum. So that give you free rein to come on here and be brutal and unkind to someone clearly in distress does it? Really?

The puerile need of some people to boast of their hard heartedness, and callous attitude towards other living thing and other peoples feelings beggars belief.

The inability to empathise or feel compassion for others is not something to be proud of.

I doubt the OP is going to come back. Why would she come back to be further upset, but if you do come back OP I hope the news is good for your cat.

GalaxyDefender · 02/05/2013 11:15

Oh, poor kitty Sad
Please OP, make a new thread in the Litter Tray where you're less likely to get insensitive responses. We care about what happens to your kitty, I hope he's okay Flowers

I dread to think of this happening to GalaxyKitty one day. But she's not a natural housecat so keeping her in would be cruel.
I should also mention that there's a 3-legged cat that lives near my parents - she is lovely, and gets around fine. Though it's quite funny to watch as she bumps her bum along the floor when she goes at speed Grin

PickledLiver · 02/05/2013 12:21

Threads like this is why Mumsnet sometimes gets a bad press.

ParadiseChick · 02/05/2013 14:33

My posts weren't sensitive, I'll acknowledge that. I have never claimed they were! Although I have mentioned several times I hope that the cat is ok.

Some people need a bit of perspective here. And a little less armchair psychology!

PickledLiver · 02/05/2013 14:35

I think you've done your piece now, Paradise. We get it.

Sparklingbrook · 02/05/2013 14:36

Some people need to know when to let it go.

toffeelolly · 02/05/2013 15:26

Yes I agree!

Sparklingbrook · 03/05/2013 12:31

I am bumping just to ask if OP is okay, and whether any news on her cat. I fear she may have not wanted to return to the thread for obvious reasons.

Anyway Zepherial, I really hope you are ok.

Latara · 03/05/2013 12:50

One of my friends has a cat who needed his tail amputating after a car accident but luckily his bowel and bladder weren't damaged.
He is now fine and back to his happy lively self.

Hopefully Zep's cat will make a good recovery, would be nice to hear if it does.
