Some bastard has hit my cat.

Some fucking shit ran over my cat!

My neighbour called me and said someone was speeding down our road ( which drives me mad as we have a school and nursery near us and it is 20 mph, but that's another thread....) and our cat ran across the road and they hit it. Get this they slowed then fucking drove off, did not even get out to see if he was okay.

So I had to take all three of my children home to see if he was dead bloody traumatic for them ( he was not dead) he is now at the vets with god knows what wrong with him, when I picked Him up and put him in my car he collapsed.

So to the Aibu can I watch out for the car as i have the reg and a good description and stick hundreds of post it notes thanking them for not getting out of the car the bastards? Angry

Let it go, Neo. All this is really going to hit the OP if/when she comes back to read it.

Hmm fail Grin

flippinada · 01/05/2013 22:55

As trolling, goading and misleading (well, certainly at least one of those) is all over this thread like a rash, no doubt MN will do something about it.

Hopefully before the OP sees any of it.

ParadiseChick · 01/05/2013 22:55

Neo I understand, but don't you just hate the way your point loses it's impact when you're required to explain it?

Flojobunny · 01/05/2013 22:56

I ran over a cat a few months back. The cat ran off. I stopped and tried to find it, I knocked on doors of all the houses near by to see if anyone had a cat but they didn't Sad one older gentleman answered a door and said words to the effect of nevermind its just a cat, you have no legal obligation to stop so don't worry about it go home and make a brew.
I was shocked. I didn't care about my legal obligation to stop, I stopped because I cared about a poor cat and the poor owners wondering why their cat hadn't come home.
I still fret about what might have happened to it.

OP, i really hope your cat is ok, often trauma can be really awful at the start, even neurological impact can right itself once any inflammation goes down. Your cat is in the right place, poor thing, poor you - I hope he makes it xx

ParadiseChick · 01/05/2013 22:59

Ok.

Yes I agree LEM. My cat had a blow to the head and wouldn't leave the corner for a long time. When he did, his mouth drooped...the vet couldn't find any broken bones and let him home. He's fine...his mouth droops still and brain damage could have happened but it's been a year now and he acts normally.

ParadiseChick · 01/05/2013 23:01

I did say up thread I hope that the cat is ok.

"It's AIBU" with the implication that you then have the right to act like a complete arse is the thing I most detest on Mumsnet.

Very simply, it is so much nicer to be nice and thoughtful towards others. It just is.

O.P, I hope your cat is ok.

OliviaMMumsnet · 01/05/2013 23:10

Oh
I DO HAVE to post the Talk guidelines again

IN short "What we can all do with is some moral support"

HTH
Hmm
Smile

ParadiseChick · 01/05/2013 23:12

In reality, as unpalatable as some people may find my view it is not illegal. I would not get involved. The driver is under no obligation to get out, hunt down owners or knock doors etc.

They aren't shits, fuckers or twats.

And really I don't think stating the obvious warrants the personal attacks but that's more indicative of the attackers lack of dignity.

Sparklingbrook · 01/05/2013 23:13

I think AIBU needs it's own talk guidelines OliviaMN. I'll start

  1. Don't be an arse.
ParadiseChick · 01/05/2013 23:13

Olivia rather than cryptic clues and smiles do feel free to pm me if there's an issue.

thecook · 01/05/2013 23:20

ParadiseChick Lets hope your family pet never gets run over. Imagine your --rats- crying

ParadiseChick · 01/05/2013 23:25

I don't have rats.

I have lost pets before, it is shit, I never said it was anything other than shit.

Truly sorry about your cat, OP.

Not stopping after hitting a domestic animal is truly cuntish.

I hope your pet is okay.
