Some bastard has hit my cat.

Some fucking shit ran over my cat!

My neighbour called me and said someone was speeding down our road ( which drives me mad as we have a school and nursery near us and it is 20 mph, but that's another thread....) and our cat ran across the road and they hit it. Get this they slowed then fucking drove off, did not even get out to see if he was okay.

So I had to take all three of my children home to see if he was dead bloody traumatic for them ( he was not dead) he is now at the vets with god knows what wrong with him, when I picked Him up and put him in my car he collapsed.

So to the Aibu can I watch out for the car as i have the reg and a good description and stick hundreds of post it notes thanking them for not getting out of the car the bastards? Angry

You're "sharing your thoughts" in a similar way to the way a dog shits on someone's path.

NeoMaxiZoomDweebie · 01/05/2013 22:05

That last post of mine was to Paradise.

usualsuspect · 01/05/2013 22:06

I hope your cat is ok,op

ParadiseChick · 01/05/2013 22:08

Yeah, because that makes sense

Scheherezade · 01/05/2013 22:11

This is AIBU.

stella1w · 01/05/2013 22:11

Cats aren't 'owned' so aren't anyone's property.

OliviaMMumsnet · 01/05/2013 22:21

Ahem

flippinada · 01/05/2013 22:22

"it's AIBU"

So what? That's not a free pass to come and sneer at someone's distress.

Hopefully the shit stirring, goady posts will have gone before the OP sees them.

RollerCola · 01/05/2013 22:26

Good grief Paradisechick, have a bit of compassion. I take it you don't have any pets? The op is facing the possibility that her cat may die. Yes you're entitled to post your thoughts on the subject but have a think about how helpful they are to the op before you post them.

it may be aibu, but when a poster is upset then it not fair to kick them down even more

lottieandmia · 01/05/2013 22:28

'Cats aren't 'owned' so aren't anyone's property.'

It's a pedigree cat, so I expect the OP has papers etc.

usualsuspect · 01/05/2013 22:28

Olivia can you move this out of AIBU? So the AIBU idiots can bog off.

lottieandmia · 01/05/2013 22:31

Pets often become a part of the family so it is very upsetting if anything bad happens to them. You can't easily keep cats in the house - they like to go out.

fanoftheinvisibleman · 01/05/2013 22:31

Good to see compassion is alive and well on mumsnet tonight for some Hmm

I hope you and your cat are ok.

ParadiseChick · 01/05/2013 22:32

I have one cat, one dog, a hamster and 3 stick insects Grin

Fyi - an opinion that differs from your own is not equal to shit stirring or goady-ness.

CSIJanner · 01/05/2013 22:37

Selfish, inconsiderate and heartless driver for driving off - and some heartless comments on here as well Hmm I rally do hope your cat is on the mend soon. As some people say, you can't own cats (despite the microchip) but they're members of your family who you and the children love, which is all that matters here.

As for AIBU to cover the car with post it notes? As long as it doesn't damage the paint work so they have o repercussion to come back to you, I don't see why not. Visibly shame the barstool. And make the post it notes pink with waterproof ink. Bright glow in the dark pink.

OliviaMMumsnet · 01/05/2013 22:37

Hello OP
Sorry about your cat
If you'd like us to move this to the litter tray, please let us know.
I am sure that I don't need to post ANOTHER link to the guidelines

Peace and love

crazynanna · 01/05/2013 22:38

A while ago, on a thread about a neighbour stealing a cat, someone posted a link to,I think it was, CatsOrg, where it qouted the legislation which made it clear cats are owned by the person who acquired(legally), feeds and cares for it. So yes, cats are owned. I too think it is really twattish to come on a thread like this and post twatty drivel about cars being damaged.

ParadiseChick · 01/05/2013 22:41

That's not what your link says baby!

crazynanna · 01/05/2013 22:43

Here it is

ParadiseChick · 01/05/2013 22:47

The term animal in the road traffic act does not apply to cats. Keep googling, I'm sure you'll find it.

NeoMaxiZoomDweebie · 01/05/2013 22:49

Paradise I was comparing your thoughts to a dogs shit. Nasty, unwanted and polluting. Does that explain my comment to you or is it all a bit much for your addled little brain?
