This little beagle baby will be joining our family in a little over a month…what should we call her??

I don’t necessarily love “people” names for dogs although the one we have is named Winston 🤣 I do love Willow and Winnie, but Winnie is too close to Winston and Willow is too close to our son’s name.

I like the idea of a spring/flower name because she was born in April. I keep thinking Daisy but that’s surely the most common dog/flower name ever!

I’ve always really liked the name Lemon for a dog after a (human) character on a tv show, but there is a certain color variant in beagles referred to as lemon beagles, and she isn’t one. So that seems strange.

Anyway, give me your best spring or flower or non- peopley names! (By non-people I mean things like the aforementioned Lemon, or Cricket or something. I do love Cricket; since I’m American it is just a bug to me and not a game 🙂)

Clementine (Clemmie for short)

Or Lemen (pronounced Lemon) for short!

She is so sweet - so how about Jello?!

But she’s a girl? I think Lola or May would be nice?

I know she's a girl... I would still go with Snoopy.

Whatever you pick, make sure it’s something you’re happy shouting at a bush (I have beagles).

Going back to your original idea, first thing that came to kind was Lemony Cricket? 😁

So cute! 🥰

Another vote here for Clemmie Clementine.

I don’t like Cricket as a name for a puppy. It wouldn’t suit her at all.

What about Whistle? You could sing Whistle Down The Wind to her…

They sent an updated picture today! Isn’t she sweet??

I feel like she kind of looks like a Rosie, but I’m not sure!

Very sweet. Looks like a Clemmie to me! (I know children called Rosie.)

paranoiaofpufflings · 22/05/2025 11:05

She’s beautiful! Rosie does suit her well, or Bonnie.
