This little beagle baby will be joining our family in a little over a month…what should we call her??

I don’t necessarily love “people” names for dogs although the one we have is named Winston 🤣 I do love Willow and Winnie, but Winnie is too close to Winston and Willow is too close to our son’s name.

I like the idea of a spring/flower name because she was born in April. I keep thinking Daisy but that’s surely the most common dog/flower name ever!

I’ve always really liked the name Lemon for a dog after a (human) character on a tv show, but there is a certain color variant in beagles referred to as lemon beagles, and she isn’t one. So that seems strange.

Anyway, give me your best spring or flower or non- peopley names! (By non-people I mean things like the aforementioned Lemon, or Cricket or something. I do love Cricket; since I’m American it is just a bug to me and not a game 🙂)

She is beautiful.
We called our dog, Maple, she has lots of lovely brown colour patterns, we were thinking about Autumn, first suggestion conker, then Maple.

I love so many of these! I think I’ll have to narrow it down to a handful and just choose what seems like it suits her most when we bring her home in late June.

Some that won’t work are Magnolia (DD is Maggie 🙂) and Petal, which I really do love, but in my accent Petal sounds exactly the same as pedal/peddle, and that’s not nearly so nice. I love, LOVE Honey, but honey or buddy are what I call all dogs (and children actually 🤣) when I don’t know their names, so maybe it would feel like she didn’t actually have a name?? I don’t know, I could be overthinking that.

Clementine is on the list for the Winston Churchill connection mentioned! Plus, it’s adorable.

I like the idea of Primrose because when we inevitably nicknamed her, she could go by Rosie or Posy really.

I love Pickle but it seems like a boy’s name to me, why I have no idea!

Penny is very sweet. I have that on my list along with Honey and Primrose and all the other flower names as well. Honestly, there probably isn’t one name suggested that I don’t like, so this is going to be difficult!
