My mini poodle attacked by Bull Mastiff

I'm sitting in my home waiting to hear from the vet how my little mini poodle is😢

Walking in our local woods this morning, as we do every morning, she's pootling about sniffing etc when this bloody great dog came charging out from a side path...off lead...no owner...and just full on attacked her.

She's screaming, the big dog is biting her...suddenly 2 more big dogs😱 also charging towards us followed by man.

The man jumps on the dog and managed to drag it off...my little girl is bloody and crying, lying there...the other dogs are circling. I was feckin terrified. This has all happened so fast.

Now waiting. Just need to tell someone as she is my only family now.😭

O OP hope your little dog is OK. ❤❤❤ My miniature poodle was bitten picked up and shaken by a large staffie/ bull Cross after the owner had assured me the dog was friendly. It was awful. I carried my little dog out of the park cost £500 at the vets 15yrs ago. Never found the fighting dog owner again and don't know if he still goes round telling people his dog is friendly. My little lad is an old man now but I tend to keep him on his lead and happy to put him in the air over my head if I don't like the look of an approaching dog. (I know this is not recommended as you can get large dogs jumping up you ). Hope your little dog is OK. 💐

I had similar happen to my little Westie, except the fuckwitted owner blamed me as her dog has never done anything like that before. It was off lead and shot across the park to attack mine who was on a lead. But yeah, it was my dog's fault.

My little crossbreed was attacked by a greyhound he was grabbed by the head and was hanging out of the greyhounds mouth, it was awful hearing him choking. The greyhound had locked on and had this weird glazed eye look to it. My husband had to hurt the greyhound to make it drop my boy. Its the most horrific feeling when it's happening and the shock really hit afterwards. My boy was ok, he was in shock and had a bad cut to his eye that needed treatment.

I was taught at first aid courses i did for work that bleeding can actually look worse than it really is as a pint of milk in a bottle looks far less than a pint spilt on the floor if you see what I mean?

I really hope your beautiful dog recovered well and quickly home with you.

Mine was attacked as we were walking off our drive one night - the arsehole owner was visiting neighbours and their dog got through the hedge. Took 4 people to get it off mine, and I still don't understand how my darling boy survived - he needed weeks of vet treatment and has a massive wound in his chest that turned into a haematoma.

I was shaking for days, don't underestimate the physical shock on you. I hope you get good news soon, and at least this owner appeared to be responsible and helped.

Just heard from vet. She is out of surgery. A 4cm deep puncture wound, through muscle and into abdominal cavity. Heavy blood loss. Had to have double sedation? They are keeping her in and will update tomorrow morning as to her progress.😭

Thanks to you all for your understanding and best wishes. We all flippin ❤️ our dogs, don't we.
