My mini poodle attacked by Bull Mastiff

I'm sitting in my home waiting to hear from the vet how my little mini poodle is😢

Walking in our local woods this morning, as we do every morning, she's pootling about sniffing etc when this bloody great dog came charging out from a side path...off lead...no owner...and just full on attacked her.

She's screaming, the big dog is biting her...suddenly 2 more big dogs😱 also charging towards us followed by man.

The man jumps on the dog and managed to drag it off...my little girl is bloody and crying, lying there...the other dogs are circling. I was feckin terrified. This has all happened so fast.

Now waiting. Just need to tell someone as she is my only family now.😭

Hope you get some good news from the vet today, what a horrible thing to happen. My small dog was attacked by a bigger dog off lead once, thankfully he was fine; but I’m so anxious around all big dogs now.

That sounds absolutely awful - your poor little dog, and so shocking for you. I hope she will be home with you very soon 💐

Update: she is doing...ok...still on fluids to help flush the sedation.

Vet is concerned that they cannot get her to eat anything so they have asked me to go in and visit with some of her normal food to try and get her to eat.

Pleased she is doing ok. Hopefully you going in to feed her will do the trick - my girl won't ever eat at the vets so I have to go in and hand feed her. I usually treat her to some cooked chicken. Hopefully she will be home soon

Oh I hope she perks up when she sees you and you can give her lots of little kisses and love. My little one started to get better when he saw me xx

Poor little thing , she will likely be overjoyed to see you and that will perk her up . Lovely to hear that she’s doing well it could have been so much worse .

That’s good she’s doing ok after her ordeal and hopefully she’ll improve once she sees you and eats some familiar food. Fingers crossed for you both

We had something similar happen to my little Jack Russell.

She made a complete recovery despite some similar sounding injuries and a heart murmer to contend with.

Glad the owner has been helpful, not always the case!

Very serious injury then, poor little dog. Good news that she has made it through the initial 24 hours. I hope she improves a little bit today OP . She has had a massive trauma on all levels , hopefully now she can just recover .

Just reading this how terrifying for you and your adorable dog bless you both, wishing her a quick recovery and plenty of treats when she gets home 🙏🏻 rest up you must be in terrible shock

I took some of her food in...and she was sooo happy to see me 😍 They took her off the drip temporarily so I could give her some food (wolfed it down) and spend a little time with her...not long cos she had to go back on fluids.

She is still there for tonight but they think she is doing well and hopefully will be able to come home tomorrow🤞

I will update with pic once I have her home so that all you lovely people can see her.

How was when you went to visit? I can only imagine how awful this has all been for both of you. I really hope she perked up & ate when she saw you. She looks beautiful ❤
