My mini poodle attacked by Bull Mastiff

I'm sitting in my home waiting to hear from the vet how my little mini poodle is😢

Walking in our local woods this morning, as we do every morning, she's pootling about sniffing etc when this bloody great dog came charging out from a side path...off lead...no owner...and just full on attacked her.

She's screaming, the big dog is biting her...suddenly 2 more big dogs😱 also charging towards us followed by man.

The man jumps on the dog and managed to drag it off...my little girl is bloody and crying, lying there...the other dogs are circling. I was feckin terrified. This has all happened so fast.

Now waiting. Just need to tell someone as she is my only family now.😭

I'm so glad she got through her horrific ordeal. She looks so sad in the second photo. 😢
She doesn't know and can't understand what happened to her, poor pet.

I love dogs but I hate dogs off lead. They bound over and then so often the owner has no recall.

Bless you both - that is a nasty wound thankfully she survived it- I'm sure she is glad to be home and you must be so relieved- now for some TLC and gentle days, thanks for keeping us updated

So relieved your lovely dog is ok and the owner helped throughout .My wife's first dog a Yorkie twelve at the time had no chance against a dog twice his size both were off the lead.The owner just disappeared thirty years ago now.I agreed with mother in law that DW should never find out how he died.

She is very tired. But definitely glad to be home. Now just have the 4 x daily battle to get her to swalllow her medication...she's a terror...oh and prevent her from jumping...(the down side of always allowing her to sleep on chairs & beds).

Currently have dining room chairs upended on all sofas & chairs to block her

She's doing ok today...had to go back to vet yesterday evening as she was not doing so well

Wouldn't eat or drink and was very agitated, panting and breathing really fast. Vet told me the worry with any dog bite is infection, and that her wound was deep and serious. Her temp was up, bloods indicated some infection, but thankfully abdominal scan was clear. Changed the antibiotics, increased pain medication and OK to come back home.

I’m so sorry she went downhill, you must have been panicked, hopefully now the vets have got it under control, really hope she makes a full recovery.

Oh gosh, you must have been so worried. I hope she stays well and gets better very soon. Your hens are gorgeous!
