My mini poodle attacked by Bull Mastiff

I'm sitting in my home waiting to hear from the vet how my little mini poodle is😢

Walking in our local woods this morning, as we do every morning, she's pootling about sniffing etc when this bloody great dog came charging out from a side path...off lead...no owner...and just full on attacked her.

She's screaming, the big dog is biting her...suddenly 2 more big dogs😱 also charging towards us followed by man.

The man jumps on the dog and managed to drag it off...my little girl is bloody and crying, lying there...the other dogs are circling. I was feckin terrified. This has all happened so fast.

Now waiting. Just need to tell someone as she is my only family now.😭

She's still on antibiotics & pain meds. Not eating well. We are keeping an eye on her weight...it's been dropping slightly at each vet check. Off to vet for check up this morning.

Can't take 'cone of shame off' unless she is on my lap/next to me on sofa as she is determined to get at the wound.

But took her back to woods yesterday...just 10 mins on lead...we met some other dogs that we are familiar with (labs & spaniels)...she was fine with them, not scared or stressed at all, thankfully

I think I was more nervous though, I usually love walking there, best part of my day...but couldn't relax and was glad to get back to car

Our boy loved chicken & cheddar cheese when he wasn’t well. Worth a try & go for hiding the tablets in.
I hope she feels much better very soon & you too.

Oh bless her, I do hope she picks up a bit.

Sorry to hear she’s still not eating very well, I hope she’s doing a bit better today. How did she get on at the vet?

Her tummy might hurt after eating? Or antibiotics making her nauseous?dogs are very clever. I'm guessing you're giving her her favourite food

Wound might be itchy which would be a reason she wants to get at it

Hope her appetite perks up soon. She really is such a sweet little dog I can imagine how upset and fretful you have been.

sorry you probably have done this already but have you tried something like cheese or roasted chicken? Scrambled egg ?
there some of the things i always try to tempt my pets with if they go off their food or are convalescing
